In regards to the world map: Since it only has one major area in it I'm reserving reservations, also, any idea where geographically it takes place?
They said the game will have more than 1 city. They only showed the starting city. Geographically it is fast East beyond the Numenera (Ninth World) campaign map east edge.

Oops. Should of specified, I meant our current world.
That is impossible to know since this is happening 1 billion years into the future and there have been all kind of changes done to the world including Sun has been stopped from dying.

So, Sagus Cliffs is the game's first city, and you start the game there. George describes the city's various districts in the stream (starts at around 54:00)

The Reef of Fallen Worlds, a district of Sagus Cliffs:

The player's escape pod crashes into that dome at the bottom left at the beginning of the game.

The district of Circus Minor, a market district. George talks about some of the sidequests in this area. Bit spoilery.

The district of Cliff's Edge, a lower-class neighborhood.

Cliff's Edge has an excavated surgical complex, with medical drones that can augment you. :neveraskedforthis:

The Underbelly, another lower-class slum. The burrowing stycha creatures live in that cavern in the upper right. You can befriend them and they'll take you places.

Augments are always a cool addition to a character system, especially if you have to find them in the world.

The Caravanserai - Sagus Cliffs' airport. Notice the Bloom on the horizon on the top right.

Last area - Government Square. The buiildings here are actually made out of the top of the same starships you can see on the left-hand side of the Underbelly.

Torment's main menu!

It's a shame they couldn't get the animations running at a decent framerate. They might have given Mr. "abstract, tactical movement" roshan a heart attack. :troll:

Man, they should've shown off a good dev-narrated 15-20 minute gameplay video of torment either during or before The Bard's Tale, I mean, this is looking to be as unique as Planescape was potentially.

That was a developer build Main Menu, there is no chance it stays like that. That is 100% a placeholder.

ITT: Newfags bitching about the obvious placeholder menu. 10/10, would read again.
