I'll probably get a box unless they say something that offends me.
So basically, you're not getting a box.

Brian Fargo @BrianFargo
We are happy to support localized versions of Torment for our Polish and Russian fans due to their passionate feelings about RPGs.
We Slavs will work for few potato, so that's hardly a blow to the budget. Not sure how I feel about all the translations + Linux. Seems like a lot of resources for something that's supposedly going to be on a shoestring budget, but what do I know.

Fucking potato privilege.
Fargo shows us proper respect, as he knows we will yet to save the RPG industry with our mature, bloody, potato non political correct games, while most of kwa vanilla games will turn into LGBT romance simulators.Fucking potato privilege.
I doubt it'll have the word count of Torment. Brian Fargo even gave Avellone a stern lecture about how he made them go overbudget on the localization costs. Plus I'm going to blindly trust that the combat will actually be fun this time.Yes but it will have Planescape Torment walls of text. I thought you didn't like that and prefered mor action in gameplay.
Why would you think that? Fargo donated to Tropes vs Women. McComb wrote a book that handled women decently enough. Since it takes place in a weird, wacky place I doubt there will be any cultural appropriation to worry about.I'll probably get a box unless they say something that offends me.

I hope for bigger word count than Torment. After all the game will have better and fewer combat than Torment. Something has to fill the gap.I doubt it'll have the word count of Torment. Nine whole months of preproduction! You can do a lot of writing in nine months.![]()
Combination of too much text, too much sexism, too much combat (because the vast majority of it wasn't interesting), and too much fetching and fedexing (complete with snarky journal entries talking about how tedious it all was which just annoyed me further because they knew it was boring and put it in anyway). Was your problem with Torment the word count or the way the game was more about dialogues than combat?
More words doesn't = better writing and as I mentioned that seems unlikely with Fargo.I hope for bigger word count than Torment. After all the game will have better and fewer combat than Torment. Something has to fill the gap.![]()
Also: "Complement." Some writer.Chris Avellone said:As far as interference-from-above goes, we probably could have used more than we had - like Fallout, Torment was sort of under the radar for a while, and the producer role changed several times over the course of the project. Brian Fargo was mostly hands off, except to complement us on the writing, and give me a pretty stern lecture (deservedly) about the localization costs for the game.
