I saw they even hired Cohhcarnage, the biggest shill on earth, to stream the game. Things must be looking very bad.
Not even Coch can save this DoA game.

I am yet to hear any meaningful reasoning of this.Troy is neither confused nor simply ok. It's the best contemporary TW game since Rome 2.
What is something in Rome and later that you miss in Medieval 1?Shogun 1 was a very simplistic proof of concept. Imo the series developed steadily up until Rome 2.
Geishas were broken af, so it didn't do that very well.Shogun 1 had tremendous style, though. And everything that it did do, it did well.
And I see just like in matters of politics you are an emotional woman-brain.I see you are wrong not only on matters of politics, but on general gaming tooWhile Rome 1 was a fun game, especially at the time, and it had a vibrant modding community, it was, objectively speaking, a decline from Shogun 1 and Medieval 1.
as a commie you shouldn't berate women. You fail at leninism, just as at everything elseAnd I see just like in matters of politics you are an emotional woman-brain.I see you are wrong not only on matters of politics, but on general gaming tooWhile Rome 1 was a fun game, especially at the time, and it had a vibrant modding community, it was, objectively speaking, a decline from Shogun 1 and Medieval 1.
Battles man!! Medieval 2 had awesome battles. What is something in Rome and later that you miss in Medieval 1?
Sure the battle engine is better, but anything with the campaign gameplay is worse than in Mediaval 1, maybe except the diplomacy options(but not their actual function). To this day the AI can not handle the movement on the map and there are so many retarded campaign mechanics that were added because of it.Battles man!! The only impactful thing of all these is economy which is the good stuff and should be used in the future titles.I am yet to hear any meaningful reasoning of this.Troy is neither confused nor simply ok. It's the best contemporary TW game since Rome 2.
- Actual faction diversity that matters and factions led by memorable characters
- Best battles since Shogun 2 due to a lot of factors (faction rosters, terrain, surprisingly in-depth rock/paper/scissors between infantry classes)
- Hector = lack of chargers/flankers, missiles under 180 range, has to melee grind
- Paris = must rely on missiles and protect them with under-average frontlines
- Dardania = lack of top elite units and missiles must compensate with more numbers
- Lycia = lack of melee chariots and missiles are under 180 range, medium units weak to missiles and heavy chariots
- Mycenae = lack of flankers and elite frontline/missiles, must rely on elite chargers and cheap skirmishers
- Sparta = rely on flanking, because other aspects are underperforming
- Phthia = rely on balance of numbers, flanking and protecting Myrmidons, weak missiles though
- Ithaca = rely on ambush, flanking, vanguard deploy, short-range javelin frontline, stalk. Decimated by heavy chariots
- Hippolyta = rely on chargers and chariots, underperforming on other aspects, squishy
- Penthesilea = rely solely on chargers, glass-cannon, skirmishing. Squishy
- Argos = rely on infantry flanking and countering units, lack of speed/stalk/charge
- Salamis = rely on Charge Defence, Slings, Chariots, and unspottable units. Really weak to flanking. Can counter any faction, but must be played well
- Aethiopia = fast light infantry, decimated by chariots, otherwise wins melee fights. Meh skirmishing
- Thrace = rely on Furious (frontal) Charge, weak to missiles
- 5 resources (8 if Sarpedon) that make the economy a bit more varied and settlements worth holding on to
- Balanced army compositions are a necessity because you'll get decimated by shield-carrying units if you rely too much on archers like in every TW game since Rome 2
- Religion mechanics that have opportunity costs attached to them (Aphrodite is a bit too good when playing on higher difficulties and weak on lower difficulties, but there's a mod for that)
- Strategic successes mean access to cool units that can complement your roster
- Story-driven campaign objectives that can be safely ignored if you want a classic sandbox campaign
- There isn't a single weak DLC, Mythos is the best DLC for any TW ever
- Logistics play a huge role, it's not uncommon to still have a lot of tier 1 units in the endgame if you haven't thought about how you'll transport your troops
- Administration is the best supply lines mechanic to feature in a TW game
- A variety of agents (including the 3 big monsters if you want them as agents), the majority of which are worth using
Shogun 1 had tremendous style, though. And everything that it did do, it did well.
HUGE SUCCESS
