Don't be silly, everyone knows Fallout was created by Brian Fargo:I don't get the hate on Todd Howard. After all he created Fallout.

That's not true heresy.HEY, GUYS! I started playing the original Fallout for the first time recently, but now I've put it on hold so I can play Fallout 4 - Point Lookout instead.
Let me repeat that... I stopped playing Fallout. So I could play a Fallout 3 DLC. In Fallout 4.
ARPG games are just rtwp from another perspective.
You have a pause button, they're in real time, therefore they are rtwp.
I thought this was the codex consensus...Diablo-like games are near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to RPGs, only slightly above RPG mechanics in open world games.
I think is lower. It is only slighty above the RPG mechanics of souls-likes.Diablo-like games are near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to RPGs, only slightly above RPG mechanics in open world games.
Maybe he meant the 2nd part? There are some open world games with complex or even decent mechanics.I thought this was the codex consensus...Diablo-like games are near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to RPGs, only slightly above RPG mechanics in open world games.
One doesn't have to preclude the other. You can have pointless complexity and you can have complexity like in Cataclysm DDA (a RL/rpg/open world game) which is half pointless - but the other half is very... purposeful and cleverly implemented.Fuck complexity, I want purpose.
