I'm a Zillenial thank you very much. Unlike Zoomers I remember Bionicle and Yu-Gi-Oh. Oh and Neverwinter Nights.

Also Baldur's Gate 3 was dreadful. Even ignoring the blatant degeneracy it falls apart after the first act where Larian's laziness, bad design, awful writing and lack of direction become very apparent. And anyone who likes it has exposed themselves as shallow fools who don't play RPGs.

Anime is full of horndogs, tbh. Sure they might not be attractive to you but weebs are probably fucking all the time, I remember weeb girls having a fame of being easy when I was a youngster. Which was something I certainly appreciated back then. Gaming, i dunno, the scene I frequent is mostly chill people. Everyone I know who plays D&D is a girl, and everyone I know who plays Warhammer is gay.

I'm reading some of these and thinking "Eh. That's not so triggering." Mostly they're patently false accusations that I can say "Nobody actually believes that and it's obviously not true, so whatever."

I think the things that really trigger me are statements that can't be proven false, like a "we should..." or "we need to..." (also "we need to stop..." or "you don't need to...") that are really stupid, that people actually believe and propose. I hate those statements because when someone says it, there's no way to argue against it. Because it's a non-falsifiable statement you can't just show evidence that says "according to the results of this experiment, we should not..." These are statements that if someone believes it, he is so stupid that argument is pointless. Someone who makes that kind of statement has such a foreign understanding of reality that it's like we're not even speaking the same language, like the words we are using have different meanings. Let me give you some examples:

We need to tax unrealized gains on capital property.
We need to take all the billionaires' money.
We need to pay reparations for slavery.
You don't need an AR-15.
We need to take away everyone's guns.
Our hiring and promotion process needs to reflect the diversity of our country.
We need to use more inclusive language.
College admissions should be more equitable.

We should do away with lists entirely, no one reads them.

The concept of the RPG "genre" is vestigial and only exists due to historical cultural associations and order of events of the past. This is why no one can agree on the criteria for inclusion.

If history was erased and Underrail, VTMB and Grimoire all came out this year there would be no reason to associate them. They are just games with rules, and all games have rules.

It is wise of you to have chosen this thread to post this kind of nonsense.

pray tell, what other genres would you assign them to bar an RPG genre?
