Not sure what you're trying to prove here. One gives you favor while the other response doesn't.
Don't see any problem with this. RPGs need more ways of saying the same thing. As long as it doesn't come at the expense of other dialogue options, it's no big deal.
Sawyer really shouldn't be one to talk about dialogue.
I have always enjoyed Sawyer's dialogue whether Isair and Madae, Arcade Gannon, Joshua Graham, or Pallegina.
Not many people can say they inspired something like this.
What I have had happen is when the character levels up while having consumed the invisibility potion during combat, they will have the potion's buff removed and have the invisibility effects stay active permanently. There's currently no way to reverse this effect.
Do you have Hamachi/VMWare installed? There's a bug with Unity and LAN drivers that causes extremely long load timesPlayed for awhile longer today and it's getting a little better. Loadtimes within the game (transitions between areas, loading games and so on) isn't so bad (10 seconds or so), but my initial load is over THREE FUCKING MINUTES LONG. There's definitely something wrong there.
Anyway, Is anyone getting major Black Company flashbacks from the story/setting? I quite like it.
PoE combat is a masterpiece next to this. They really managed to make combat worse than pillows?I prefer Pillars of Eternity combat over this, no questions asked.
-I don't like cooldowns on abilities.
-4 man party feels restrictive.
-Not a fan of the learn-by-doing system.
-Pathfinding during combat is worse than PoE.
-Combat was a clusterfuck until I deactivated companion "AI".
-Combat AI for companions is non-existent.
-Armors/weapons aren't that fun.
-Encounter design is worse than PoE.
-Combat UI is inexcusably bad.
Yeah, it's awful. The mechanics in general are awful. I suggest playing on a difficulty that you can faceroll comfortably.I'm trying to figure out what they did to the to-hit system. There's now a hardcoded 5% miss chance, 10% graze chance, 5% hit chance, and 5% crit chance no matter how much accuracy you have, but I can't tell how they're calculating the remaining 75% of chances. It certainly feels much more confusing to figure out the value of accuracy and defense than it was in Pillars.
The standard of documentation is also noticeably worse.
What are you on about? Game has nothing to do with Pillars. In part that's why the combat is so terrible. Every element that made PoE's combat somewhat challenging and entertaining was stripped out in favor of spamming abilities as soon as they come off cooldown with complete disregard for positioning or tactics.Combat reminds me of Pillars, leveling up characters is boring, but I like the setting far more. And I really like that you can gain wrath/fear as well as favor, because too many games follow the old route of reputation = how much of a shiny paladin you are.
Tbh, I think Tyranny would be a better game if done from scratch and not modeled after Pillars. I'm not sure if I finish this, but if they overwork some of the design (by which I mean don't model it after Pillars, there is no fixing that) I might give an expansion/ a sequel a try. Which is certainly more than I can say of PoE.
Yeah, then you restart on PotD to see if it gets challenging and realize you made a terrible mistake. What are you on about? Game has nothing to do with Pillars. Wow a toggle!! Quality of my life my ass, the UI is a disgrace specially in combat. Each character has upwards of 12 cooldowns to press and you can only see one character bar at a time, plus checking for buffs and debuffs can only be done individually for enemies and friends.I miss flanking and I generally feel the combat is even less tactical and positioning focused than PoE, especially since magic only really kicks in for late game really. But Tyranny just has so many rough edges sawn off PoE, there's so many qol things like making highlight everything a toggle(!!) that they've improved on. It's hard not to give the game the stamp of incline though, when you imagine that all the QoL changes that they made will get rolled into Pillars of Eternity 2, and probably onwards.
Seriously, highlight everything as a toggle is amazing.
And for some inexplicable reason the combat log and area map occupy the same space.
It's not like there's any competition nowadays. The other RTwP CRPGs are either much smaller indie games or BioWare crap. After PoE 3.0 and playing Tyranny I am now convinced that Sawyer is the only one that can design RWtP combat right.
And the fact the game being skill-based fools you into thinking hybrid characters are viable before you notice spellcrafting requirements and how each combat style requires a specific talent tree. They really need to patch in a respec option, especially when you consider the growing amount of reported ability bugs.
