I now consider being evil in a world where evil hasn't won yet would be far more interesting, if people would react way more wildly to it rather than understand it's just the way things are.

Maybe the people in the game were mislead by mainstream media into thinking that kyrios is evil.

Mages aren't weaksauce at all, well built Eb does serious work, but they don't kick in until midway through act two when you get AOE stuff which is a fair way through. Lantry also has serious legs, remember that Force+Touch combo on spells gives you haste, -25% recovery speed for 45 seconds which is really worthwhile for the difficult fights. Until you can gear up properly with a Spire that has a Forge.


Also, the spell crafter thingo in this game is 11/10. Easily my single favourite feature in the entire game. Spires come close second, they nailed the Spires.


I wouldn't call this an instant classic because the story kind of makes Pillars of Eternity's baby killer narrative good by comparison, but this is a good solid video game. BG2/Planescape/Torment Tides of Visual Novella early access>>>>>>>>PoE White March 1/2>>Arcanum>>Pillars of Eternity vanilla=Torment Tyranny>>>BG1 is how I would rank this in terms of RTwP isometrics I've played.

Control mages and self-buff mages are the best builds in PoE currently, with nukers being the worst. Still doable, just not as good

Does having a pc mage give extra benefits over npcs? I kinda liked the spellcrafting system but if npc mages can match the pc, maybe I'll switch to zweihander for heavy hitting.

I just read Kills In Shadow's tree, saw "wields two handed weapons as 1h" and noped out, surely that is just too good for words. I might succumb to temptation later but christ they sure overreacted to all the bitching about "Sawyer balances all the fun out of the game" by putting an overpowered bear with tits in the game.

Oh right, I assumed she was wielding 2h dual wield for a second. Still pretty insane to have the 1her accuracy bonus if PoE mechanics carry over

Does accuracy still affect spells in Tyranny? I checked out character creation before work and I took Shock and Vigor spell schools as my two and the game didn't recommend me to put points into accuracy giving stat but into Might?!
I ignored that and took spell damage (wits), faster spell cooldown and accuracy. What gives?

Honestly, once I saw Eb's tallent tree.. probably not. You'll never get cool magic skills like that.

Though in general - Fatebinder's skill trees are very uninspired compared to companions. Leadership stands out though.

Call me a misogynist all you want, but I don't think a female writer can carry the metaphysical themes of the first game forward without fucking it up or mixing romance with it. They just don't have the genuine interest in those more abstract themes to produce anything of worth.

Just wanted to see which NPCs cover which abilities overall. The leadership tree for the pc seems very bland though. Whats good about it?

The passives are cool. And if you use a weapon all those thrust upgrades in teh beginning also are not a waste.
Anyway , 2H goes like knife in a butter in this game, trying my second attempt at mage, this time the butt-naked PoE approach + quicker cooldowns.


And on another random note: I have more fun in this than in PoE. Reactivity is a positive surprise, even if it is in minor things. Gives mah immershun.

Just steered playing, already bothered by them carrying over the "sneak to discover hidden crap" mechanic from PoE, as well as having the tap the tab key to find out which containers are lootable (though that's a general gripe with this type of isometric game)
