I never went energy pistols. Are they useful throughout? What's a good energy pistol build?
They're not so good early on but once you start getting good crit chance they become really strong. The most recent patch nerfed critical power so you can't hit >1000% critical bonus anymore, but you can still get it really high. And you can get a damage bonus from intelligence, and they have nice damage types, and electroshock's bounce is awesome.I never went energy pistols. Are they useful throughout? Currently stress-testing a new build for my current playthrough after discarding the first one. What model/caliber Assault Rifle would you guys recommend for a Burst/Suppressive Fire/Commando build? I was thinking either a crafted 9mm hornet or the F25000.
My idea was laser as main and plasma as a back-up.Question is what you want to specialize? Laser, plasma or electroshock pistols? From my playthrough i can advise you against electroshock pistol as your mains, since you will eventually get hit by your own shot and drop dead :D. Its good as side arm. Plasma is also good as sidearm, since you can deal massive amount of damage with aimed shot. So your main damage dealer will be laser pistol. You want to get it down to 10AP per shot. You need 14 dexterity for that. So that stat is non negotiable. If you dont mind running all the time with eel sandwich, then get 13 dex, and you can invest that into intelligence in the agility build.
Must have, got it.You don't have critical power, why don't you have critical power? Energy pistols can hit like 300% critical bonus if you use a good quality amplifier and have practical physicist (and you do), so critical power takes that up to 500% bonus. Pretty crazy for one feat.
I used 8.6 Huszar as the main. Biggest damage output. Without PSI or chems it's guarantied two brrs in a turn and leftover AP to heal/reload. I was killing bladelings in Foundry purely with AR - without W2C ammo.Currently stress-testing a new build for my current playthrough after discarding the first one. Is there actually anything in unmarked caves worth looking for?if you like to explore caves[which you shouldnt since there's nothing there but misery
I'm not 100% sure but isn't that where Exoskeleton lies? The one which also has neat (and useless) connection to Depot AIn the latest waterways update, there is mention of a "large dungeon". Has anyone been there?
Dungeon sounds good, but I'm not sure I understand the point of this armor. It's quite large - each of these 3 sections, especially the first two were like 4 times bigger than a usual "dungeon" - square. Loading times as well even on SSD by the way.
Exoskeleton is a unique armor:

That +3 Str has some real potential. You can full wield Balor's Hammer at level 16 with the Exo-Skeleton armor on and bust heads with it.Looks shit tbh.

Eh, if you don't move it has enough energy to go 15 straight turns. If you want to cut that in half, and say you have eight turns to finish the fight, that means you have 70 tiles of movement during that time. Seems plenty viable to me.Looks like energy hog. What if energy runs out during the fight? Can you at least recharge it in mid fight like tasers?

Oh God. What am I doing with my life? I have 100+ adrenal glands in my locker 'just in case.'
