I'm wrapping up my Plasma Beam Boy, after the first ever tin can - apart from that spear throwin', what are some new builds around the new patch? Claymore Sword I half-built but still hate flurry.
not new but did you run versatile crit lazor? It gotten insane buffs last patch due to items

One of my trusty go-tos, but what items are new/buffed for it?

I just killed Balor with complete permastun from pneumatic gloves, didn't even aggro Ironheads in the next room over except for one, not sure if TK punch has slight sound or something?

belt for extra crit crafting, commando belt for moar dmg, tesla armor for moar dmg, more electronics from items for easier crafting, who knows perhaps there is more since its just from top of my head

Right, here's my shit build. It's time for an AR tin can; I haven't played one since before the unconditional special attack nerf.

https://underrail.info/build/?HggGA...7JhZJREopRVXCtcKkU8OM4p-iBeKijQPiprgD4qeqA9-_

I wanted Thick Skull/10 CON, but found it too annoying to plan out how I'd juggle it into the base ability and feat progression. Belatedly, I remembered that ARs kill everything almost immediately anyway. Skipping Thick Skull allowed me to take Grenadier, which I always like to have.

Sprint will be sorely missed, and in fact I can't recall ever doing a playthrough without it. My hope is that I can at least eke out 2-3 squares of non-AP movement throughout most of the game with boot springs, Nimble, Armor Sloping, and not going whole hog on armor penalty. Still and all, perhaps it would be best to do without Grenadier, take a skill total hit, and rely more on Sprint.

Speaking of skills, I have a lot of them, fully meta-gamed. A big difference from my last AR tin can playthrough will be spec'd Yell with maxed Intimidation.

Criticals I've paid attention to but not fully committed or specialized into. I deliberately avoided Critical Power because relying on it substantially reduces the variety of fully viable AR builds, yet it's still possible with goggles and scopes to get >40% crit chance on, say, a Hornet.

ive noticed in build tool that there are 2 new feats: shoemaker and fine tuned. Any idea how to obtain those?

I'm sure you can live without, shave off a few k from that 68802 and do just fine.
I wonder if anyone tried to see highes number one can get from butcher cleaver and eviscerate.
If one uses ripper glove then you might be able to get quite a few stacks... If you count it as 4AP weapon, you can get 22.5 attacks per each turn, for 3 turns.
67 attacks, expected value of 60 bleed stacks. Thats 3100% dmg boost from eviscarate without specialisation. To compare that posted spear had 859% from throw
Cleaver got same 8% dmg scaling form str as spear, although it starts at 5.

Possibly native dagger is better since you can poison it with leper poison?

In regards to the Junk Jet, you can pretty immediately take it over here, to omega pass and there's a Scrap Jet just sitting there with a broken battery. Twice the hitpoints, and a suspension system on it. Swap the battery in and you'll be able to drive a better Jet around.

Also a couple rooms away next to some Azuridae, is a another jet that is stealable(IE not unclaimed like the scrap jet,) and has a MUCH better battery on it, that you can claim for yourself.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
In celebration of the new update, I'm trying a play-through with my first sniper build. Nothing fancy, but I don't want to craft anything other than grenades and drugs. I want to find a unique sniper rifle, carry around a tonne of grenades, and have high persuasion & stealth. So far so good.

Dragunov is hands down the best unique sniper. Black Arrow is good in the late game for when you need to do the maximum amount of damage in one shot.

This is what I was originally going to do as well, but then I remembered that sniper rifles can bring out the worst in the game's RNG, especially with the (otherwise perfectly reasonable) maximum 95% to-hit. If you get unlucky, miss your Snipe and Aimed Shot and blow your Shooting Spree, what are you going to do? You'll probably reload, and I'm not talking about your rifle's magazine. I don't like to reload. When my plan fucks up or I bumble into an ambush, I like to try to survive no matter the cost (to combat drugs, durability, ammo, etc.), even if I have a quicksave five seconds before. Sniper RNG is just way too frontloaded.

The other problem is that especially on Hard+, after you kill one or two guys on your first turn, five more take Krokodil and sprint in your direction. There are traps, of course, but placing several of them without the feat is frankly really fucking annoying, and traps are heavy as shit to carry around (though I do love that they're very accessible and don't require utility slots). The other OTHER problem is that some enemies—including some of the nastiest in the game, such as black crawlers—are inherently somewhat difficult to actually snipe from any real distance. You'll most likely want a backup weapon of some kind, especially in the early game. The OTHER OTHER problem is that sniper rifles are loud, whereas Spec Ops SMG guy can clean up enemies quietly like he's running a pool table.

So I think, "Why not make my backup weapon my primary weapon?" and make a different build.

Oh yeah, and then there's the clearly OP Temporal Manipulation crap that the good old psi system was ruined to make way for that's in every build now. Rarely do I open someone's build an not see TM and the two feats for the extra AP psi shit included. I don't even know what the actual ability or feats are called, because the whole situation pisses me off so much that I refuse to even think about it.

You should also pick up one of Thought Control or Kinesis or Metathermics IMO.
Also Sniper char can also use assault rifles I think with enough str

Nah, no telepathic nonsense for me. I only have so many skill points. My sidearm is a pistol, but might switch it for an SMG. The only challenge I've faced so far is what to do with all the junk I've been picking up. I hate leaving valuable stuff on the ground, but not as much as I hate talking to every merchant and offloading it all in a piecemeal fashion.

I want to see what special stuff persuasion can reveal about the lore.

sounds good on paper but by the time you get to omega pass, you will rob someone of best jet out there(non faction, non shop that is). Or at least thats what I did. I assume this is the reason why styg was hesitant to get us on water for so long. Btw after a while such jet is yours and you no longer get red marker when boarding it

Then you can steal better parts from empty ray place

I think the unattended jet skis are random, so that's not reliable. I checked just now and I can't see one there, at least.
The good news is that because they're random there'll probably be more in other places. You should always be able to find one before too long.
