84% to hit a Rathound at level 20.

Either the RNG wants to takes this on me for a bad year at its job, or Styg did this to secretly collect global data just to sip wine and chuckle at such stats on lonely Friday nights.

I've never collected a large data sample, but anecdotal experience definitely agrees with this. Stated hit % is always a lot higher than actual hit %.

It's like the game urges you to play a cave wizard

I don't know how often I have to repeat myself. Styg is a sadist and he just enjoys torturing people.
We could have had a nice, comfy little war and he could have taken out his sadistic tendencies on unarmed civilian populations.
Alas, it is the gamers who will have to suffer.

If you insulted gypsy in junkyard you get a curse, your char sound like a cursed one, the hit chance is permanently fucked up, and you can't fix it, hopefully you saved before that...

gypsy curse caps your THC at 75%, but this is unlikely the case here. Underrail is known for absolutely ridiculous rolls, frequent misses even with 95% THC are not really uncommon

My old record

Six misses in a row with 70% THC. My new record.

To all the naggers, what you want? For styg to ship a fucking physical random noise number generator that you plug to your computer, because you are the real grognard RPG fan and won't settle for these artificial like nvidia frames rolls? You are delulu people. Accept that once in a while you will get fucked.

What I particularly like about Colony Ship is that it is completely open under the hood. While mousing over the target and pressing ALT you get the detailed THC and crit chances and what factors were taken into calculating them. Then, in the log you see the entire formula and the resultant roll. Giving player all this information is the ultimate respect of a player by a game

Underrail only shows you the general THC and damage dealt/resisted in the log

And also remember - cave wizardry doesn't miss. It has no concept of missing. Playing pure PSI is like playing a different game

Gets kinda boring though. I always drop my full cave wizards playthrough midway
What is an interesting build you like?
My favorite one is the chemical pistols DEX build with SI. I only use PSI as support, like imprint, grounding and TM. The most PSI heavy build that i finished the game was one using metathermics support for a crossbow. Blowing people up with the destabilization spell after a crit bolt was really fun.

This game's builds possibilities are truly nuts.

What's the deal with the western Abandoned Waterway Facility. It's close to Junkyard, and it's the area past the water crane that clears the passage once you find and install the cables.
There are enemies called "Muties" - Sniper, Technician, Gunner... some of them on Jets
They attack on sight, but it feels wrong to annihilate their whole settlement. Especially since there is someone called Mutie Vendor.
Is it some part of some later quest, or can I just freely EXP, clearing those parts of the mutant filth?

Given the way mutants and hunchback mutants mostly attack on sight, I suspect the muties are also profoundly ill-tempered. Maybe just from the pain, maybe also from the change.
Still, it's not perfectly explained the way they exist in the game, mostly hostile on sight to humans (and vice versa), but still able to fraternise among themselves.
There's no peaceful option with the muties of the Waterways anyhow. Blast away.

There's a quest for the black eels to rescue someone deep in that location, but that's about it. It's meant as a late-game area where you massacre loads and loads of mutie filth

I have a certain sentiment about muties. They are the most harmless faction in Underrail, don't bother anyone, trying to survive away from humans, settling in sewers and abandoned facilities... until the player comes and exterminates them with extreme prejudice. These peps have already suffered enough

Also, mutie refuge in Black Sea and mutie exiles random encounter are not hostile

They are. I have thousands of hours in and haven't finished the game with a lot of builds you see around

It's a late game dungeon. You can freely go murder hobo on it, there's cool loot, oddities and a unique armor

But are they still hostile if you're a mutie yourself?
Not possible to reach the muties as a mutie yourself, the reachable area as a mutie only has bots and spiders
