Holy shit after fucking years we gonna have an FTL clone finally
FTL has modded to insane degree and is still very playable today (the biggest mega-mod is very active in development) but having actual clone with all new features are nice
I completed this one a few days ago (it used to be only on itch), really enjoyed it. It's a small game (5 hours?) where combat itself is as simple as it can get but there's some resource management to do between fights, both visuals and music are great, it's smooth and polished (I got no bug with the last version), the adventure and getting stronger parts are fun and most parts I needed more than one try to eventually beat which was great, they're far worse ways to waste an evening than playing it.
Really? I don't even know one. Would be great if you can share. There are some weird colony sim in space with space combat but I am not considering them an FTL Clone specifically.

Alright, completed the demo. Some thoughts:
-It plays like a mix of tacticool shooter and Deus Ex.
-You bring up special item with a x button in order to check how visible you are.
-There are three ways you can hold your gun.
-Some weapons have different elements like heat or electrical.
-Multiple mods that you can install on weapons like silencers, laser sights. burst fire mod, etc.
-Weapons operate on batteries that act as semi-realistic magazines, you will be throwing away spent ones pretty often.
-Some batteries can be recharged at the special station.
-No saving during the mission but there are revival chambers scattered around that you can activate. Amount of charges are limited and some will require finding a special battery to turn on.
-That same special battery can also be used to turn on deactivated healing and recharge stations.
-Most of my deaths were from failed attempts to reach alternative routes through parkour. Parkour feels a bit junky.
-You can control drones but using them offensively will require installing a special weapon mod on them.
-There are also psi-powers that will require a special tool to access. Damage shield and explosion protection, noise removal and stuff.
-My favourite psi-power is probably the basic strength boost that lets you hurl heavy objects at pretty high speeds and that "teleport inside the enemy" one, E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy had a very similar teleport power i think?
-There are some traps you should watch out for like alarm lasers, trip mines, cameras with turrets.
-One of the more notable ones are jammers that prevent you from accessing your UI and inventory.
-I also got caught by surprise that enemies are actually utilising holograms against you. Be careful not to waste ammo or alert everyone with your presence by shooting a dummy that doesn't do anything. Silencers are not that silent by the way.
-Warning: there are puzzles inside!
Good news is that you can usually avoid them by simply smashing doors and stuff. This is also where different weapon elements most noticably come into play.
You will need to reach a certain damage threshold in order to break objects like doors.
-As for the demo level itself
Demo consists of only one level but you will need to beat it twice, second time during the night with more traps, enemies and different objectives.
Ingame justification is that your guy is so pissed at being murdered in a cutscene that right after being reconstructed he comes back in order to completely wreck this place and take a vengeance on his killer.
All in all, the overall demo is cool. Don't care about X-Com like base management, would prefer if they focus on making good levels.
