Because no one fucking wants a gta clone with vampires.

Also wouldn't drive by turf wars endanger the Masquerade? I mean feeding from someone in a dark alley is one thing, but driving around with a tail of police cars is another...

Absolutely, since masquerade is generally not making too big a noise. Anything flashy would be breaking the masquerade. I really hope the developers keep this in mind.

Its ok if i can blood witchery sorcerous magic stuffies.
Well, you can change your gender. The specialty thin-blood discipline has that as a 1-point ability.

Check your privilidge, shitlord! Gender bending is the exclusive purview of the :obviously: Tzimisce :obviously:

Which means engaging Ventrue, Torries, Dominate-inclined Tremere, and Nossie hackers in damage control. No biggie. It is pretty standard in WoD that when the Sabbath tries to conquer a city, they deliberately provoke Masquerade violations to force the Camarilla to tie up resources in maintaining it.

The Tzimisce house is the best part in bloodlines. It is always fun to kill them. I never understood if i managed to kill the creep in the game or he just managed to run away.

hurr hurr fluent is just saying that it should be both gta and vtmb at the same time with level design of vtmb and expansive open world of gta why couldn't we think of that before?

Even if such thing was possible in terms of resources time, it would still be bad because it would bury the good content under piles of grind. All for what? So you can drive-by some vampires?

It's not like I don't understand everyone's concerns about such a thing happening. And I don't really believe that a VTM with a world scope of GTA would be possible resource-wise. But it doesn't have to strictly have small hubs in order to shine like the old one and not everyone has to panic when he hears the word GTA. Some well-placed, non-handcrafted content (like a random encounter) would help breath life into the game. Or a less linear world that will encourage some exploration. VTM:B for example already had various random generic people you could just drink from - in the same sense, generic things are not always bad, as long as they properly add to the worldbuilding. Not saying that the handcrafted content should get the short end of the stick either. What I am saying is that both ARE possible - even if not likely.

Being optimistic about something (open-world games like GTA) that has time and time again shown itself to be utterly incompatible with what VtM is is pointless and dumb. If they make it an open-world, it WILL be full of bullshit and grind, with the occasional potentially good set-piece or story. What's the point in that? If the only good bits are the handcrafted story segments (like, you know, Bloodlines), just make a string of handcrafted story segments and cut out the fluff. I don't know, wanting this game to be "a good open-world game" seems both naive and a bit tasteless.

An open world game needs content, a significant portion of which WILL end up as combat encounters. Being a Cainite, you are the predator, with Kine being the prey. Therefore to be meaningful in the slightest, the combat encounters ought to throw Hunters, Ghouls, other Cainites, Werewolves, and Magi at you. If these become common sight, it will start hurting my suspension of disbelief, and therefore it will start hurting the game (this is my main beef with VtMR, btw). The other solution is to level-scale the 3 hobo rapegang, which is just ridiculous.

So no, an open world game will not lend itself well to a Vampire game. The world will be either empty, or patently nonsensical.

Your way of thinking is more linear than the chinatown hub.

The easy solution to the overly populated supernatural is to make the challenge not based on difficulty of opposition, but difficulty of doing it clean: No masquerade violations, no cops looking for a psycho/Punisher fitting your description, no humanity loss.

Murphy's Law. Really, though, it makes sense, since 5E has mostly Caitiff as protagonists (afaik), they don't have to put in clan reactions and they can justify it by saying "Caitiff can have all the disciplines, make your own clan! Yay!". They can also shill the oppressed minority angle.

No? 5E has Caitiffs as playable "race"... but this doesn't make them protagonists. All other clans are still available in the core manuals (and also clans have more pages dedicated to them).
Any source for this or you just pulled it out your ass?

I think it's obvious that is my prediction. Caitiff can be (and are) protagonists in 5E, so I foresee them choosing the easy way out.
