I helped put crap in Monomyth
They can shove as many SJW NPC in the game as they want, as long as you can disagree with them and kill them afterwards it will be fine.

You know the "disagreeing" dialogue will be bone-dry strawmen.
What's this "disagreeing" you are talking about? Are you trying to be a bigot and a racist? When a paraplegic, trans-black lady of the night is speak to you what you need to do is shut up and LISTEN AND BELIEVE, therefore the options available to the player will be:
1. Yes.
2. Sure.
3. I'll say yes later because there is no other way to advance the plot, but we still need to give the goyim the illusion of choice.

"In V5 a thin blood can "join" a clan by committing diablerie on a vampire of one of the proper clans.
They ascend to 13th gen when they do it
The Camarilla uses the chance to "ascend" as a carrot to get thin-bloods to be expendable assets"

Seems like that's how they'll run it.

My initial impressions on all the information so far is pretty positive.
I'm seeing reports of no quest markers and some of limited quest markers. Does anyone have a source? Either way, a focus on real exploration and having to think for yourself is :incline:.

Also, apparently you can climb buildings?! This could be great for stalking prey over rooftops. Any confirmation on the open structure? (Full open-world or Bloodlines-like hubs)

Of course there will be politics in a Vampire: The Masquerade RPG set in modern times. A lot of people here have mocked other communities for doing exactly what you're doing now with RPGs like Kingdom Come: Deliverance. If you must take a hard stance on any game whose politics differs from your own, by all means, but enough with the bullshit hypocrisy. It also makes having any meaningful discussion on design pretty difficult.

I love this, the butthurt will linger eternal.
Yes, I suppose they are still wondering why the sales for VTM5 are so low. I don't know about other countries, but in Spain there is a large stock of core books gathering dust in stores all over the country. V20 is still easily available, to boot, so why get the inferior product when you can get the distilled original? Can you imagine any character from the original VTM being described in such faggy terms?

Anyway, I see they are dead set on shitting all over the good name of VTMB. I hope I'll end up being wrong, but...

So the game is using the 5th ed. ruleset but the setting is the Old World of Darkness where Gehenna never happened?

This notion of coming to terms with one’s identity is present throughout the game, but is especially prevalent when it comes to character creation and how you’ll progress through the story. At the onset, you'll be able to choose a background for your character, who they were in ther pre-vampiric life. Depending on this choice, you'll experience different alterations in the world as you explore. For example, if you choose the "Cop" background and visit a police station, there's a good chance someone on duty will recognize you. Alternatively, you could select the "Barista" background, and no one will remember you or give you a second look. The world is reactive to your character and your choices, the team says - and the effects of those choices can be far-reaching story consequences or something as simple as what pronoun NPCs refer to you with.

V5 Timeline

Research done by Beckett and his allies seems to suggest that Gehenna-like events are cyclical and have appeared throughout history.

The culmination of events in the 2000s, including the Red Star, the Week of Nightmares, the rise of Thin-bloods, the Withering and the Beckoning has lead some the Kindred to believe that Gehenna has begun, but not as the apocalyptic event which would smother civilization they had imagined.

Instead, elders are drawn to the East and vanish. The Sabbat believes that they fight in the Gehenna War against the ancients and has led a mass exodus to the Middle East and the East European Plane to aid them to slay the Antediluvians.

This "of course it'll be political, it's Vampire!" is a weirdly common deflection toward something that isn't at issue at all. People would be pretty disoriented if Vampire was sanitized of politicking.

I don't get the allusion to KCD, though. Was that even about some in-game soapboxing? I thought they just hated the developer and period.

See, Bloodlines had politics but I was free to spit any or all of the factions in the face. I could call LaCroix a jester or Nines a rebel without a clue.
Do you really believe this one won't favour "the right side of the history"?

:nocountryforshitposters:All this talk about "politics" reminds me of the thread before Kingmaker comes out. People were complaining about "SJWs infested the game", and the barbarian is a "strong and independt women" as well. Now it's codex's 2018 GOT.

Depending on what you believe in, maybe. My point is that for as much as people here laugh at the outrage of other communities and their beliefs, we have hundreds of pages (of countless threads) here of people doing the same thing. Instead of discussing RPGs, we delve into politics at every opportunity.

As for the freedom to tell factions to fuck off, I would certainly hope so.

It was both, though I've certainly argued my fair share of why the former is bullshit because the game doesn't push an agenda in that regard. All the same, there is no shortage of attacking developers here for their beliefs on the other side of the spectrum.

Positively interested but it is paradox and games comes from their new studio.
Could be good game, could be rape.

So who is going to make Arcanum 2 ?

edit:

What Avellone is on this ? LOLOLOLOLOL Avelone makes more RPGs now than Obsidian.
By quitting Obsidian he unleashed his power.

edit2:

"Careful attention to progressive, modern political and social qualities, such as being able to chose your gender pronouns"

Burn it in hell. Game will be sjw shit.
