Calling someone with anxiety "mentally ill" is about the same level of stigmatization as calling someone "diseased" when they have a cold.

Depends on how acute the state and where exactly on the anxiety spectrum. Some people get debilitating panic attacks. Wearing gloves to avoid muh anxiety is fucking crazy regardless.
Or the gloves could be for not leaving fingerprints behind...

From what I've seen Mitsoda doesn't act like someone with social anxiety.
It may very well be one of these self-diagnoses mental disorders people these days love to flaunt on social media to have their own stake on the ongoing Oppression Olympics.

You can see it as a common occurrence in "certain circles", with posters constantly tripping over each other in the attempt to come up with the saddest story of personal misery.

Fingerless gloves as a means of not leaving fingerprints behind... brilliant.

So how are they going to work a number into the title? Make the vertical parts of the LI in the word Bloodlines a different color ala Resident Evil 7/8, or will they go with a reversed S to spell Bloodline2?
Just call it Bloodlines' that way looking up the original will only ever bring up the sequel.

The fingerless gloves are such a dorky detail that I believe he does feel anxious when he has to speak to crowds of people and wearing them makes him not-anxious.

he just thinks it's a cool look (it's not)

it's like assigning meanings to tattoos - there's none, the person just thinks they look cool (they don't), they have a dark triad personality and a fast life history

Sure, could be a mid-life crisis thing. I don't recall seeing any picture of him wearing them until he went to the conventions promoting Bloodlines 2.

2011 at PAX, no gloves.

Nah. It's more like a security blanket. Like, unless you're an exhibitionist, you probably feel more secure wearing a jacket, jeans, and boots at the grocery store than you would barefoot with a Speedo. The gloves are a more neurotic version of that, a token layer of leather (he used the word "armor") between him and the world, always tactile and visible.

There will be no number in the title in order to disassociate the project from the catastrophe of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 by Hardsuit Labs; the new game is going to be called Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines while the one by Troika Games will be rebranded as Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (Classic).

He thinks it is a shield against the world. What makes what I said outside of the realms of possibility in the thought processes of a person like that?

Petroglyph? They are an RTS developer first and foremost. Though old Westwood did make the Lands of Lore series...
That's a bit of an apples and oranges comparison.
Westwood also made Eye of the Beholder, Legend of Kyrandia, Blade Runner... They were essentially known for being one of the most versatile and accomplished development studios of their era, not to mention they basically invented the modern RTS as a genre.
Not exactly confident Petroglyph could flex a similar range.

Also, not sure if it was already discussed in the last pages, but someone in the known informed me just yesterday that Paradox itself confirmed Bloodlines 2 is being re-written from zero and to not expect it before 2023 at the earliest.
In the end it sounds one of these cases where an attempt to be a cheap ass at the beginning is turning into a mid-budget production with all the costs of "triple A" title.
April 27.

Yea, RPGCodex had whole week advantage.

Starting from scratch? Once again, all Mitsoda's original writing is being completely trashed? Not sure what I expected but seeing it in black and white like his work never existed is a real

BTW considering they decided to kill Mitsoda writing and story, and they are making game from scratch, expect game to be released in 2023 the earliest, not before 2023.

They also need to add some gameplay. From what I seen from original game, fights were bit meh. And game shouldn't be only about boss fights.

It's normal when different game company takes on project, they will create theirs own story they wanna make. If a third party was asked to remake the combat and other stuff that was complete fail, and keep decent story, that can be made in theory. It was typically task for some Bulgarian (or perhaps czech ) low end company, that could do high end programming and has skills, but not enough renomee to stand on its own, or theirs writing typically sucks, or both.

But, typically only fanboys of Mitsoda writing would be willing to go through pain to make stuff properly. Normal company typically prefers do it with theirs own style.
(BTW, considering Paradox is no longer wanna use Mitsoda writing to make a product, and paid for it already, they should release Mitsoda writing into public domain, with Mitsoda permission of course.)

Is there any real Paradox info on this other than the uncle of the mother of the friend who is "one source close to the publisher"?
