One of the PoE streamers was promoting this and the 80% off deal was hard to say no to. The Sororitas DLC was only 10% but yolo. Love the WH40k aesthetics, the sound and feel of shredding freaks with my bolt gun. Too bad it's online only. I can see myself playing this casually from time to time. I feel like the Warhammer and WH40k franchise is one of the last bastions of gamer culture that hasn't been infected by the woke mind virus yet.

That class trailer looks janky as fuck. Significantly more so than other classes in the game including the mechanicus.

Can you elaborate what exactly you mean by that? I agree it can be janky, but I don't quite understand what you mean with your comparison to the other classes. Frankly, the assassin always felt the most janky, due to the odd dodging and stuff.

Do I lose out much when I'm not in a Guild/Cabal?
Not if you play alone anyways. Very minor benefits.

A friend wanted to play it in multiplayer, so I bought the bundle.
Only tried range crusader class, the character building seems really meh.
Kind of chore to play I had to blow shitty explosive barrels for 7 hours to unlock the achievement to use the fire damage tree.

The fun part is: I think the plain red barrels don't count. What counts are the translucent containers with red liquid in them, which explode with a big bang, damaging everyone around them. There's a blue version of that as well (somewhat different shape), probably counts as well, but those are rare.

If you know that, and keep an eye out for those, it should be done within an hour. It's one of the most simple unlocks, others are much more annoying.

So I invested a bit into playing the Sororitas class. Still not unlocked all skills, but here's my early impression:

I'm going for heat-based weapons, mostly Flamer for good coverage and range, and various combo-Weapons that allow for popping additional acts of faith. Those are nice boosts when things get hairy.

I'm not entirely sure I like the "Embodied Saint" Form yet. I admittedly haven't used it alot until recently, because I was waiting for it to unlock, until I noticed it already WAS unlocked, but used a separate hotkey. Yeah. Admittedly, I may have missed that info on some tutorial popup, too many of those in the beginning, so I tend to close them instantly.

Voice overs are fine, though not as good as Crusader or Techie.

Some additional info on char creation:
The type you choose (Sister Seraphim, Sister Dominion, Sister Celestian) only influences

1) Slightly different face/hair of the character's 3D model (who cares)
2) Starting Weapons, which hardly matters, because you will be quickly able to use different ones.
3) An initial Perk you can use. This matters.

Sister Seraphim is the Melee variant, probably, and gets 60% damage bonus when 'surrounded'. Meh. I'm not doing melee here anyways.
Sister Celestian is the one who starts with Hand-Flamer + Brazier combo weapon, and gets a perk that gives 20% movement speed on kill. Meh. Not very useful.
Sister Domion gets a 2H Bolter and 2H bFlamer soon after that. I run with this one, because the initial perk is extremely good: "Run and Gun" - 100% ranged damage bonus for 1 second after moving, which actually includes during movement as well (not clear from description, but kinda in the name). Since most primary and secondary flamer skills will have your character moving backwards or forwards, this perk is active most of the time. Pretty decent boost.

20% movement speed is great if you do not have a movement skill on low CD imho.
Yeah, but movement speed is capped at 50%, which is easy to get through other sources. I won't waste a perk for that.
Arguably, I'd probably use it if I wanted to rush through the campaign without raising difficulty, so damage increases become negligible?

I got a little bit further in and now the map and enemy variety is here. I think it offers enough to warrant it's existence beyond just being a guilty pleasure for wh40k fans. I'm not aware of any other arpg that gives you the opportunity to shred freaks with a bolt gun.

Turn right after Alpha Centauri
Guilty pleasure is just my opinion of course though not without merit. Inquisitor suffers from many modern woes since it heavily borrows from D3 without reaching its build diversity. Though the slower pace is welcome. I am sick of tired of this sugar rush ADHD monkey shit in these games where every build devolves into 2 button builds, one for mobility and one for AoE screen clear.
Now if only it could reign in the fucking retarded extreme overabundance of loot something that annoys the hell out of me in modern games.

Played hole original campaign + Prophecy as Sister Domina whom I later build as Celestia so Flamer and brazer in one hand and in the other the bolter for moments when you overheated or wanted to hit more distant targets its very fun class to play with but...

Voice acting was meh too calm and cultured for ex bolter bitch and it felt like money grab, still had the fun mind you but to new players I would say don't buy it just play as Crusader he is more based and has more weapons to chose... having no heavy flamer for my warrior nun especially felt meh.

Living Saint was cool but if you built your char for heat weapons + faith damage bonus I used it only to get achievements and additional points, its very satisfying to see the enemies of Emperor to melt and burn but again you could do the same with Crusader using heavy flamer so...

P.S. the game calls you Bride of Emperor which is Heresy.

no heavy Flamer for the SoB? That's heresy!

Of course Comrade Guardman its grave Heresy but I also I forgot to add my opinion about acts ad faith... very cool but limited, really what this game needed instead was new campaign and to play as Commissar Inquisitor with raw resource being dread gained from killed enemies and your own men instead, You could blam number of heretics during the campaign after all.

Game is worth picking still and even the new class is not total shit - the model is attractive unlike 90% of current year for example, its just not worth paying full price unless you are WH40K and diablo clones fanatic like me.

She gets access to "one handed" flamers (as part of these new combo weapons, not a single item slot), and a two-handed flamer, which is somewhat similar to the heavy flamer. Not as bulky in terms of looks, not sure how similar the skills are.
