Be gone heathen! I bannish thee to the Mass Effect Thread from whence you came!

Ed has donated towards the Codex shrine, though, I believe. :M
OK, then he's just experiencing a little cognitive dissonance:). Here's an old-school :bro: for Ed, to make it better.

The kickstarter's averaging about 20k per hour, and has shown little sign of slowing down. At this rate it'll reach 900k sometime tomorrow.

Remember, Kotaku is full of people who passionately wish they were Japanese, and do not have time for anything that wouldn't sell a million copies there. :smug:

That's a nice way of saying they're a bunch of irredeemable morons. Who cares. Less than 260k to go now, and it's going up by 1k every 5 minutes or so.

Maybe if all hate him together at the same time our hate energy will cause him to contract cancer. It's worth a shot.

Hurr, durr, very mature! You used to be a non-shit poster. What happened?
I'm just making some light-hearted fun. I was thinking of a nice I Have No Mouth LP I remembered and thought it'd be humorous! Well, it was to me. I'm sorry, I'll try to refrain from being funny in the future.

That 10K pledge from the razer guy almost makes up for the fact that they are taking forever to exchange my broken orochi wireless mouse and it was a major pain to get them an order confirmation from 15 months ago to prove that I bought the mouse or something.

I feel like publishers have become like the TV studios that would do something like buy your idea for a show and then say, "Your idea is awesome, we just want to make some minor changes. The lead character need to be a woman instead of a man and we are going to change the location and most of the main plot points....but it is still your great idea."

This will hopefully be a new way for the power to go back to the developers and maybe, just maybe, some publishers will get their hands off of some of the games that they publish and let the developer make the games that they intended to make.

Fuck me! Someone's just forked out another 10k and 5k tiers. Only 9 statues remaining as of now.
I pledged my modest 65$. Let's see how high it gets.

It's not moving as fast as DFA's did obviously, but it's actually getting much larger donations on average. ~57 per backer compared to around 40 at a similar point for Double Fine.

I guess CRPG fans are just very well-off(/desperate)! :obviously:

Somebody actually predicted that this would happen (less but larger donations than DF).

Who was that? Step up and receive thy brofist!

Once it is fully funded I bet the number of $15 donations will sky rocket.

$15 is quite cheap and I bet a lot of people will throw that in once it is sure to come out.

They only have to pay once and if the funding goal is reached, so waiting would be pretty pointless.

213k left to go! Pledged 15$. Would add to the statue fund but money's really tight right now. I'll try to get some dollas together, I've still a month so it should be doable.

There's worse from the illustrious Archaotic:
That's kinda how I feel too. I was never much of a fan of top-down isometric RPGs of any kind, so this kinda falls flat for me. If someone was going to try and make a narrative and character-heavy RPG in the style of the SNES or PS1 eras, I'd fund it in a second, but "It's just like all those OTHER bleak, depressing open-ended RPGs you see a million of this generation, just with much, much worse graphics" isn't exactly a selling point for me.

Okay. I'm generally a poor muthafucka from a poor muthafucking country, but i still did my part (35 to the codexia and 65 directly to the project).

I think there are a lot of gamers that might not care about Wasteland specifically, but once the game is full funded I think a lot of people will sign on for $15 just to get the game cheaply.

These aren't going to be people that are excited about Wasteland, but just people that come along and say "that looks interesting, here is my $15"...

As time goes on the number of larger donations will decrease while the number of small donations will increase.

I bet that in 10 days there will still be a steady stream of $15 donators coming aboard, but the larger donators will dry up. This will bring down the average donation per donator, but will also pad out the total donations numbers by quite a lot in the long term.
