Wut? You served in the Air Force? As what?
I was an Electronic Warfare Systems Journeyman (ECM, radar, chaff, flares, instrumentation maintenance/repair, programming, etc.) working on the B-52H at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana in the 11th EAMXS. Pretty sure it's the 36th EAMXS now, they change that shit all the time for no particularly good reason. Had a Secret clearance, reached a paygrade of E-5.

Would not do again, should have gone Crypto.

I couldn't care less about the women, as long as i can keep buying levi's for 25 euros at the base BX. I embrace our American guest's capitalist ways.

Think positively guys, it could mean, based of his outdated machine that he doesn't like to waste money to keep it updated and Wasteland 2 will be made on budget and on time on contrary of a certain company developing an adventure game where people spent more time talking about games than making one.

He's not getting paid from Wasteland 2's budget anyway.

I gotta say, until I was hired by inXile I was running on an old Radeon 5450 HD, which I believe is even worse than his GPU, and it ran pretty much everything fine. It helped to have an old lo-res monitor and stuff, of course. Still, some of us just don't care that much about graphics. My updated GPU is still only to the 660 GTX and your standard 1920x1080 monitor.

Same here.
My PC runs in a Radeon 6450 HD, and i have yet to run in a game i can't play. At lower settings sure, but as i realy don't care about grafix and shadows, i haven't a reason to upgrade it.

Incomparably worse.

This, on the other hand, is quite an overkill. ;)

9800 GTX is still fine for most* today's games, unless you want to play on multi-monitor setups or crank up AA & AF settings to the max. Games are stil created with 2006 technology (DX 9.0c was actually released in 2004), because they have to run on X360 and PS3. Maybe something will change after the new console generation hits the shelves.

*and you can just lower the setting for the few that require more GPU power

I upgraded my 580 to a Titan last week. Everything runs on very high/ultra again and 60 FPS.

I still don't quite understand why multi-monitor setups are the "in" thing these days.

I couldn't work without multiple monitors (I still have my old GPU hooked up to run my second monitor, heh). From a workflow viewpoint it really is a big plus. For gaming I've never tried it, so I wouldn't know.

Heh, maybe. It was only 175 bucks and came with a free copy of Last Light, so it seemed like a good update to make. It's good to enjoy Last Light's prettiness.

Well, for a game like EVE Online, having two or three monitors and an optional laptop is a huge plus. For workstations, too, multiple monitors may be necessitated.

A lot of people seem to be getting them just to play Skyrim and Borderlands on, though. I browse Reddit's /r/battlestations fairly frequently, and multiple monitors are becoming commonplace.

Blaine The thing about monitors is that lots of people have old ones lying around. So the question is, why not?

I think Blaine meant multi-monitor gaming in ultra-widescreen resolutions split accross two to six monitors. Am I right, Blaine?

I have a Raedon 6950. Dark Souls with the mod runs on it, and so does Dragon Commander Beta. And I bet DS2 and all the glorious Kickstarter cRPGs will run for it, when they get released down the line. One of the few popamoles i am interested in is Lords of the Fallen, hope it runs on the lowest settings, even if it doesn't won't upgrade though.

This word has way too much baggage because of shitty devs/publishers. If I were Fargo I'd avoid using it.

Haha, I told him the same after the tweet. Having seen it, I'd describe it as being more readable and taking up less screen real estate. I suppose "streamlined" can be a short-hand for that. It's very configurable/customisable anyway.

I'm curious about how it looks now. Can't be worse at least.
