do you still have the "ra-ta-ta-ta COMBAT HAS STARTED" HUD animation in the game?

I think it still might be in now (I only just finished syncing up my computer and haven't had time to play the game again) but if so only because it wasn't high priority to remove. I do believe it will be changed/removed.

Well, while you're at that I hope that "streamlined" UI means you also removed that retarded electricity effect from the inventory screen.

It would be nice if some bells and whistles were left in, these things are good at giving the game distinct feel and character.

EDIT:
I have a Raedon 6950. (...) One of the few popamoles i am interested in is Lords of the Fallen, hope it runs on the lowest settings, even if it doesn't won't upgrade though.
You should be quite fine with 6950.

So, will this create the same/more rage than Logic Artists did when they signed with BitComposer, or have people begun to understand the need for distribution?

Uh oh, PUBLISHER ALERT. Problem, Codex? :troll:

I am genuinely interested whether people learned their lesson back then or whether they will start screaming "publishers are evil!"

At the very least, I expect the people who raged back then to rage at least as much now :smug:

On a more serious note, Deep Silver is an European company, so they will be printing boxes for distribution in the glorious EU. I wonder if kickstarter backers get their games from them (meaning no duty cost) or directly from inXile.

Someone has done a derp and edited that jpg file and renamed it in photoshop/paint or whatever because there's some serious graphical distortion going on, especially around the characters. Also what is with the apparently blurriness of the game world ? Every recent screenshot the textures are all low res / extremely blurred - kind of like looking at the new BG:EE areas.

The far distance blur is disgusting, please tell me we can disable that in the graphics options !!!

That might be just a problem limited to the taking of the screenshots but still, wouldn't it be better to show off some higher resolution textures ?

I like the new UI but I am NOT a fan of that paper thingo. I much prefer the original green computer screen.

Three thoughts from this update.

1) please stop posting shitty quality images. use PNG with no quality loss.

2) use versals or write end turn in capital letters. 'end turn' looks wrong and would never be used on a button. End Turn, or END TURN.

3) more information regarding deep silver. what money will they get? backer money? be transparent. else you've just fucked it up big time, because guess what? they're game publishers. you have backers for QA, and you have other means to get a boxed product out there. more info or fuck off.

Isn't it obvious? They've probably offered to do all physical distribution in exchange for a percentage off of all physical units sold. Yes, that means Wasteland 2 will be sold in stores.

and yes that means a game publisher will get money when part of the pitch was 'fuck game publishers'. it doesn't matter what they do, it's what they are.

The quickslots in the GUI are conspicuous with their black and white colours. And yeah, the description box/paper doesn't look very good. But do like the greenery.

oh and

4) could be the shitty image quality but that depth of field looks like ass. I hope I can turn it off. doesn't even give it depth it just blurs it.

I presume they will also get a cut of the physical copies delivered to backers.

I'm not at all bothered with the Publisher distribution bit. I admit I was up in arms about Expeditions: Conquistador and Jagged Alliance: Flashback but looks like it was a false alarm.

As others have said, inXile probs licensed the physical good rights to Deep Silver, and they take a slice off the top of every sale. This is a much better developer/publisher relationship IMO.

There is definitely in-game blur in that shot. The UI is crisp and so are the closest (at the bottom) details. The further away in the distance, the more blur effects are added.

Yes, well, this is probably saving inXile hundreds of thousands of dollars and sparing them from the hassle of physical distribution. Life is full of trade-offs.

Eh I don't really have any reason to be mad at this. He told us what's going on when they actually confirmed a deal and hey it means we get a retail release. I do find it kind of interesting Deep Silver actually wanted to work with them after all of that talk about hating publishers but money is money.

I like Deep Silver, but the lack of transparency here is disturbing and dishonest. This or something similar has obviously been in the works for ages now, but apparently the folks paying for a Wasteland sequel were unworthy of knowing "The Big Picture". How pathetic.

yeah this is where info is missing, rest I could understand from the update.

still a publisher relationship and still means for a publisher to do business. I don't want publishers to have business. I want them to die away. I was hoping inXile would be a digital-focused indie venture like Larian are now. Larian does the distribution shit and QA under their own flag*.

*QA, at least. distribution seems selective. the anthology was their own in civilized europe, at least.

and koch media: Gothic 3, The Guild 2, Dead Island. a shit would pass as quality for these guys.

So the physical copies will ship with no DRM, Steam or online activation, right? If so, that is a good deal with Deep Silver.

Edit: They are using the same theme on their tumblr that i use on my blog, pretty nice.

Interface still looks like Russian shovelware and the detailed portraits don't really fit with it. At least you got rid of the fugly green items.
