“We don't imagine that we ship a game and it's over the next day. Those days are over,” Fargo said. “How scary would it be to go back ten years ago when we would make a game likeFallout, and you would just work on it, you wouldn't show anybody anything, and then you'd just ship it and keep your fingers crossed that you nailed the right things. We'll look back on those days and say 'Those were the crazy old days"

Look at that guyz.... he's admitting the game is gonna be a buggy piece of shit at release. HAHAHAHA!

Personally, I don't mind console gamers having to deal with a shitty PC port for once. Just like the good old days.

That sounds pretty rewarding to be honest.

Shipping a game blind and finding out people love it.

People liking something is a such a shitty indicator of whether something is good or bad.

Hero dependent

A lot of APM in SC is click spamming to keep apm count up (or keep reactions 'awake') DotA 2 requires constant hero input so that really isn't necessary.

This sure is a quality WL2 thread.

PS: I've never played DotA 2 but would you believe I have watched matches? I can see its draw as an esport, though I don't think I'd have the time to invest in it to be any good if I played it.

That's partially my fault. Zed would agree though that when one (such as St. Toxic) is in danger of going down the path of decline (League of Legends), they should be pointed in the right direction. I feel it is my duty as a Codexian to chime in on the matter, although as a Codexian I should probably be saying "Fuck that real-time garbage" *shrug*.

I think you're missing the point.

League of Legends like Gibberlings are a blight on the land that must be wiped out. A true Paladin combats it's presence wherever he goes whether it be The Wasteland 2 Discussion thread or J.E. Sawyer's formspring (vile League of Legends player).

All must submit to the one and only Doto.

I'm somehow guessing there's more to "the systems are shit" than the sillyness that is brute force, BUT I GUESS WE'LL FIND OUT WHEN EXCIDIUM ANSWERS NOW WON'T WE.
The stat system they showed made evident this is not a system designed with competence. Doesn't give me much hope for the rest of the mechanics.

Hadn't even noticed the attribute system yet. I can get why it pisses you off. It really looks like somebody went over the way SPECIAL worked in Fallout 2 and thought, how can I tweak this ever so slightly to make it more balanced (useless Endurance merged with Strength, overpowered Intelligence/Agility supplemented with Expertise, First Aid made useful, etc.). I don't think SPECIAL is as inherently shit as you do, but it is a bit disappointing that they played it so safe. I guess that's what their backers payed for though.

What the fuck?? I understand bashing the graphics with its DoF shitfilter, but don't jump to conclusions about the system and other parts of the game being bad. I still think it will be OK, and it looks promising.

Then you're wrong :)

Fallout, however, was much better than its broken systems and core mechanics. Since this seems to be striving for that but with a party as well, I personally have a lot of faith in the game. Just because the system will probably be subpar it doesn't really mean the game won't be good.

Almost all Codex favourite are high flawed gems. Arguably the only really polished games on the Codex top ten are the IE-games.
