I did too. It has its moments which are quite nice spread throughout. They might be hard to translate to an LP, but they're there.

Most of it's not very good, tho', and the writing is pretty consistently bad, sometimes raising up to mediocre. The voice acting just makes it worse, as a rule.

If this LP goes to the end, and I doubt it will, I do hope we're brought through what I consider the Worst Dialogue in An RPG EVER. And I do not say that lightly.
Also the Worst Ending of An RPG EVER and Worst Serious Use of an Anime Concept EVER.

But yeah, there are a couple of nice moments. Resolving the Tenpenny Towers bit is one of them, I think the android quest throughout the game works decently and I liked the idea of Vault 87. Occasional glimpses of good ideas can be seen throughout the wasteland, most of them are limited to seeing something and going 'Heh, that's nice'.

What? The ending? Three Dog? The BoS? Arefu? Little Lamplight? Oasis?
This is Fallout 3 we're talking about, you'll need to narrow it down.

edit:
The cute little references to the Codex Hivemind?

Pretty sure he's talking about the absolutely retarded way you get to convince the Enclave leader that he's wrong.

Wow, i thought that at least some of the hate is crazy talk, but wow, thats game is really lame.

You have not even seen the worst of it yet. Stay tuned...

You mean you actually played through all of it?!

I actually did. Just to see if all the bitching was warranted. And it is.

Nice LP. Here's a fun fact. In the Elder Scrolls: Redguard, there was a lady with a whole lot of information along with stupid dialog (the only idiot in the game) and an incredibly annoying voice that would have you turn the speakers off. Her name? Mariah.

Mariah. Moria. No coincidence. The Redguard legacy lives on not through interesting characters, intriguing lore, great writing, complex puzzles, and beautiful locals, but through this - the single low point in an otherwise amazing game. It's a damn shame.

^^^^ THERE IS NO FACEPALM FOR THAT

Looks like an awesome signature but then again I don't want to propagate this pos in any way.

Anyway, what the hell is this creature? Is this supposed to be a ghoul? Dear god, good that i didn't browse through the other 9 pages or even tried that pos myself.

Being evil in this game didn't affect me. In the original Fallouts (and other good RPGs), I'd feel guilty for doing questionable things, but FO3 is so bad that I feel rather like I'm traipsing through a wax museum melting mannequins.

Also, to the OP: download mods to make children killable because I know you're too kind of a person to force us to suffer Little Lamplight with nary a chance at vengeance; shooting those little shit NPCs is kind of like getting back at Bethesda.

It’s a good and entertaining action RPG provided you can ignore the fact that it was supposed to be a Fallout game and mentally block that aspect of it, and if you can do the same about the silly “amusement park” setting. The game looks pretty good, offers you a huge world to explore with many atmospheric locations, challenging combat, and quite a few interesting quests.

Compared to the first two Fallout games, Fallout 3 is a pale imitation that may anger many fans of the original games. However, comparing Fallout 3 to similar games like Morrowind, Oblivion, Gothic, Two Worlds, Assassins Creed, etc presents a much more favourable reaction. I think that it’s the best game Bethesda have produced since the Daggerfall days and that really says something about the game. The most important feature of the game is the promise of great things to come from Bethesda in the future, so let’s get those monkeys out of the office and kick some ass. God knows, it’s been long overdue.

^ He got into professional development. That means you can never say anything bad about anyone else's product. Game developers are a fickle bunch, easily prone to butthurt, and by bad mouthing them (aka "stating the truth") earns you a permanent black mark on your record. Since people regularly jump from company to company, and game developers also gossip to hell and back, this is a really bad thing. When Iron Tower eventually goes under, Vince might need to apply to Bethesda. He can't have them looking back and saying, "We saw your Fallout 3 review. Get the hell off our property."

Well, there is one thing we can do. We can revel in our mediocrity until the pool of unwashed and uncultured miscreantism becomes too horrible to sustain itself, and proper works of art are finally created again in an effort to free humanity from the clutches of obsolescence.

But that's worst case scenario.

Bad map design is bad! Although I guess it doesn't matter much, VX mapping tools are crap. Did you manage to do "looping" dialouge trees or does the conversation end once you've picked an option?

I need help coming up with metaphors for what comparing VATS to turn based gameplay is like. E.g. Comparing VASTS to turn based game play is like comparing Cheetos to an orange. Yeah, both are orange, and supposed to be eaten, but one is juicy and good for you, and the other is filled with corn, food dye, and cheese flavoring and just makes a mess all over everything.

Something like that. Yes, there are still people who think VATS is there to cater to people who like turn based gameplay.

Once the dialogue is done branching (OH SNAP BRANCHING DIALOGUE!!!) it ends. I've only been seeing how dialogue works for like an hour yesterday.

Actually VATS is there to cater to people who suck at FPS games. I happen to be such a person and while VATS allowed me to play the game, it certainly wasn't fun like TB.

The way I see it VATS allowed me to roleplay someone who is good at FPS games.

Also there's one perk which boosts all your character stats to 9, for fucks sake.
Stats don't matter in this game anyway.

And Beth are even saying things like "we don't want to destroy gameplay balance with DLCs" even when they have such crazy shit perks right now.
