Sadly I made it to the fucking derpa roads/fortresses that are in Divinity II. Fuck. What was Larian fucking thinking?
Bought Dead Space on that final Steam sale. Made it to chapter 2 so far. Controls are a bit annoying, but it's an interesting game that is still holding my interest for now. The PC port is really fucking shitty. I should have just gotten this for my Xbox360 or PS3.
I usually ignore you Jaesun, but the fact you posted about Dead Space makes it ok.
I bought Mafia II (2 for those not :monocle
on the steam sale. chzr can attest to this. I played it through. The full price in Aussie dollars is 79 sale price was 19, I completed the single player content of the original story in 16 hours of play. That is a fucking joke.
The open world was a fucking joke, too. There are only clothing stores (with a limited range), diners and bars, gun shops, gas stations (you never need gas wtf?) and safehouses.
There were no real side missions beyond the story content and the controls suffered from extreme consolitis.
I enjoyed the story itself but the huge "open world" felt bereft of anything interesting. You can drive around and look at the city but there's fucking nothing to do.
It reminded me alot of the original GTA games (1 and 2), beyond missions you can only steal cars, shoot cops and run over pedestrians. Mafia II doesn't even rack up points or a score for this and it's not even that fun. We've advanced almost 12 years from the original GTAs and they're now offering huge rendered 3D open worlds that are basically the same as the top down.
I wasted time on it and it felt like a fucking waste of time. I'd ghave completed the story in less time had I not restarted after Chapter 4 (to facilitate collection of the titty cards) and had I not died in some gunfights due to fucked up AI and camera control.
Also, the cover system was fucking annoying at times. The story itself was a good morality tale and the game did alot to make you feel like a "made man" at times. But only occassionally.
I'm going back to Victoria II, Gothic II Gold and maybe JA2 for some
after that.
I haven't been able to play F:NV for almost 2 months eventhough I was really excited about it at first. I ran out of steam on the playthrough and the patch made me want to start a new game. Will need time to get the incline there.
