Playing Silent hill 3 on PS2. The art direction of the game is amazing, the OST, the scariness... all is really well driven. Maybe the plot B series style is a bit hollow compared with Silent hill 2, but well... it's enough interesting. And the level design it's a bit lineal compared with other survival horror games (Well, all Survival horror games are linear compared with REmake mansion).

And Heather is a very pretty waifu too :desu:

shattered planet ... coz i like killin crabs ... filthy creatures ...

Played that quite a bit on my ipad2. But it eventually craps out on me performance-wise and crashes. Not sure if it's an issue with it not being optimized for the ipad2 model or what.

The GFX were pretty slick, and I had a lot of fun killing crabs as well.

- The first single-player game in my gaming experience that simply can not be paused. All menus, even the "game options", are live. Even when you alt-tab from the game, enemies will still hit you. If you want to take a piss or make a quick fap-break, you can:
a) exit the game and restart from latest savepoint,
b) download the trainer and enable god mode, so your fag won't die.
It does not pause when accessing menu, but there is a separate button just for pausing.

Most enemies drop from one headshot+one melee combo.

Using grenades also is just one button as far as I can remember.

Brightness is adjustible.

Looks like you just have not figured the controls.

Completed Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. Took 8 hours.

If you liked The New Order you'll probably like this too, but it is a lot more boring than TNO and there's barely any reason to play other than to shoot stuff. Yeah, the story wasn't great in TNO either but at least it had some stuff. Old Blood doesn't really care about that. I love the WW2 Nazi occult stuff and wish it could have been used a little better.

Currently playing the mother of all HoMM 2 maps: the last map of the Wizard's Isle mini campaign from Price of Loyalty.
I seem to recall having to fight legions of Black Dragons at the end the first time I played it. I've seen people complaining about the map being impossible.

Exile: Escape from the pit

Just finished tweaking the graphics for the bland UI and some of the tiles and now I can finally start playing without sunglasses (aquamarine floorcaves begone!).

I know it's no Dragon Age: Inquisition but still...

:troll:

Isn't the combat very basic and boring?

Saints Row 4: Gat out of Hell

It's like SR4 with a flight similar to Batman:Arkham City (i.e. quite fun), and very short. Virtually no main quest line - just an open world (yet another alteration of Steelport) with missions, and once you do enough of them you can go fight final boss.

Flight (sorry for potato quality)

Hmmm...I never played exile, so I can't comment on that. But the newer Avernum versions are... basically how you described. Basic tactics...trash mobs everywhere, boring, etc.

The newer iterations (e.g. Escape from the Pit) have a *bit* more complexity and enjoyment as the spell system was revamped a bit (in terms of the order of when you get the spells). Plus, on Hard it's a pretty decent hobo-mode as money is scarce and imperative to get the spells you need to beat certain areas (you gain new spells by buying them).

However, even the newer versions share some of the same kind of flaws as its older Avernum version. Primarily, that only having a 4 person party will significantly cut down on the breadth of tactics you can take. After a while you just find yourself repeating the same steps over and over. Sometimes the game forces you to adapt and crowd control becomes more of a problem. But those can be pretty hit and miss. It's not a bad go. I suspect Exile is a bit more enjoyable as a 6 person party probably = more fun.

Currently playing Resident Evil Revelations 2. Finished the second episode. Feels a lot like Alan Wake, and that's a good thing because Alan Wake is one of my favourite games. Not just because of the episodic structure and the derp story, but the atmosphere and the visual design - especially the cutscenes. The lighting and the fog are lifted straight out of Remedy's game. Makes up for there not being an Alan Wake 2, that's for sure.

The game feels designed for co-op and that is frustrating, seeing as I play single player only. Having to constantly switch between the characters slows down the game a lot.

Well then, I hope you never touch Resident Evil 0.

It gets annoying when Moira/Natalia suddenly stops performing their functions (The AI just didn't do jack for me in Episode 2) and it's up to me to switch to them just to point the light/throw bricks at enemies.

Playing the shit out of Football Manager 2015. It's my first real playthrough since...2009 maybe ?
Back then, playing the game felt mostly like finetuning an Excel spreadsheet. So I'm actually enjoying the extra level of abstraction a lot. And it's actually even more simulation-y now.

I'm playing The Darkness 1 and, clunky as it is, I'm really enjoying it. Yes, a PS3 FPS, I know.

The story and characters have managed to sucker me in unexpectedly well, and the superpowers are really fun to use. It's not an amazing game by any means, but it's good stuff for cheesy atmosphere and a genuinely decent mob/revenge/evil monster possession story. Between this and Escape from Butcher Bay, Starbreeze do/did an amazing job at taking questionable licenses and making really good games out of them with surprisingly relatable characters and dialogue. Things dragging it down now that I accidentally care about some broody 90s B-comic characters, in 2015:

1) I know the sequel ends on a cliffhanger and a third game does not seem to be happening
2) The comics based on it are apparently so utterly awful that they managed to sputter on readerless until like a month ago when they unceremoniously had the main character killed off pointlessly after 20 years in a side issue of Witchblade that nobody read because nobody still reads Top Cow why would you

I remember read the firsts two or three comics some years ago after playing the game. Not bad at all, but its very different. I prefer the game much more. And about Witchblade...

On the internet, writing shit posts.
The comics aren't bad, but it suffers from that typical comic thing where it goes nowhere.
A bit like what happened to Spawn after the apocalypse arc.

Witchblade starts off slow and uninteresting, but it gets better when Pezzini stops being useless and starts using her powers.

Finally finished Persona 3 using an emulator- it's a decent game with a good soundtrack. There's a bit of grinding (took me 100hrs to finish it) if you want the best items in the game and thankfully that isn't really necessary- I've spent so much time in the optional dungeon to level up that the final villain was nothing more than a minor annoyance.

Started the expansion called The Answer and was a little pissed that I'd have to start from a much lower level. I'll probably never get around to playing it.
