[Medal of Honor: Allied Assault]
Great game when it was released, but it hasn't aged well.
You really think so? On the contrary I think it's among the easiest old-school linear shooters to go back to.

First mouse&keyboard shooters age well in general: as long as you have customizable controls and 60FPS you can't really fuck that up. Second it has a very good balance between scripted events and long no-gimmick firefights. It's also in the ideal spot where it's old enough that you don't ruin it via high expectations, but it's still beautiful and elaborate 3D in its own right (especially with modern HD resolutions and a slight ReShade touch-up).

As a side-note that's also why I think Enemy Front should get more recognition among fans of WWII shooters; it's technically competent, does nothing wrong in particular, with long uninterrupted shootouts between story sequences; it really felt like what a true 7th-gen Allied Assault sequel would have been.

I finished playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault a week ago. It's heavily inspired by Wolfenstein 3D, even down to enemies looking and sounding similar.

I remember playing the demo on what I considered a “good computer” at my local Best Buy. Good times. I spent hours on that thing while my parents shopped around.

I liked it quite a lot on release as well as the 2 expansions. I liked the original Call of Duty even more though.

I've been playing x4 a lot lately. After 100 hours finally have a well supplied shipyard printing money. The funny thing is that warring factions order ships at my shipyard and then destroy each other as soon as the ships are finished. Infinite buy orders for me.

Started playing Stangehold, a TPS, in theory based upon movies by John Woo, but since I haven't seen any, I can't say how close it is to the movies.
But the game itself is fun, unlike its contemporaries like Gears of War, it's not as cover-focused (well, you can still use cover, but that's not as mandatory), it's closer to run-and-gun, helped by that health don't auto-regen (you have to find med-pack or use a power that's filled by killing enemies), you don't have to reload your weapons, you are quite sturdy, but enemies aren't bullet sponges. There's also a slo-mo that's activated when either dodging or using the traversal system (sliding down balustrades, using zip-lines, sliding on tables) though you have to look toward enemies for the slo-mo to trigger. There's something very satisfying in sliding down a stair balustrade in a Hong-Kong ghetto while nailing a few baddies. The slo-mo can also be activated at will too. Though since it's the same button to dodge or interact with balustrades, sometime the character won't do what I wanted, like climbing on a balustrade instead of dodging away from the enemies.
There's also environmental hazard that can be triggered by shooting at them, loads of explosive barrels and destructible elements.

Though it looks quite dated now and the controls can sometime be a little unprecise

All in all, a rightfully fun game.

Man, after this run completed I dont know what the hell to play in this tactical gunporn charactermanagement games. Silent Storm series and Fallout Tactics were finished just previously too. And I dont have the interest to replay the pixelated Jagged Alliance 2.

Sadly not going to play Skyward Sword, seems like it is impossible to play it with keyboard and mouse.
Don't bother. SS has some cool moments, but overall it's the worst 3D Zelda. Introduction is even longer than in TP. Lots of hand-holding. Annoying sidekick. Redundant dialogue. The sky is emptier than WW's sea. There are 3 main areas you have to visit 3 times each. And the motion gimmick turns combat into awkward puzzles.
i have managed to make it work. Controls kinda similar to Die by sword, except ten times worse...
This is going to be horrible :shittydog:

IIRC SWAT2 is too freaking old to be interesting. earlier than JA2 I think.

And if I am interested in that age's games, JA2 would be the ideal choice~

Goddamnit! UFO Extraterrestrial 2 Battle for Mercury would have been perfect but it's been delayed... again. naturally. traditionally. obviously. And currently with no known ETA.

They said about lotsa bugs. They said mebbeee 1st of October. but no official ETA yet.

Because it makes playing Wii games a lot less frustrating. Probably not worth it for just 1 game though.

Half-Life 2: Episode 1
Kind of okay, I guess. I liked it and liked that it was short. I think that's what Valve perhaps should have aimed at. But they decided to make a bigger Episode 2.
Also, in this episode they've cemented this stupid "you always have have someone commenting on your actions" "hurr-durr" shit.
Story is contained, but also pretty much doesn't matter.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2
A much better Episode. Lots of variety and interesting gameplay plots. The story tries to create more, ends on cliffhanger and ultimately not resolved because Valve. I actually forgot what it was about until replaying. Also, that doctor Magnusson was pure cringe in how he was written to be humorously annoying.

Metroid is good, but you don't need the Wiimote to play it.
