Started playing Stangehold, a TPS, in theory based upon movies by John Woo, but since I haven't seen any, I can't say how close it is to the movies.
But the game itself is fun, unlike its contemporaries like Gears of War, it's not as cover-focused (well, you can still use cover, but that's not as mandatory), it's closer to run-and-gun, helped by that health don't auto-regen (you have to find med-pack or use a power that's filled by killing enemies), you don't have to reload your weapons, you are quite sturdy, but enemies aren't bullet sponges. There's also a slo-mo that's activated when either dodging or using the traversal system (sliding down balustrades, using zip-lines, sliding on tables) though you have to look toward enemies for the slo-mo to trigger. There's something very satisfying in sliding down a stair balustrade in a Hong-Kong ghetto while nailing a few baddies. The slo-mo can also be activated at will too. Though since it's the same button to dodge or interact with balustrades, sometime the character won't do what I wanted, like climbing on a balustrade instead of dodging away from the enemies.
There's also environmental hazard that can be triggered by shooting at them, loads of explosive barrels and destructible elements.
Though it looks quite dated now and the controls can sometime be a little unprecise
All in all, a rightfully fun game.
