You still maintaining that old PC?
Salute!
Maybe I've been lucky but it actually doesn't require any maintenance aside from dusting it once in a while. Last time I changed some component was around 2007. I still use it to play old games.

He oneshotted me right after i managed to bring him below 5% of HP :negative:
It's not so bad tho, managed to find a pretty cool sword here that converts a huge chunk of my physical damage into lightning and boosts my primal strike skill. Thanks to that i also decided to switch from Savagery to Primal Strike for my main attack ability. A lot more flashy and effective compared to savagery with some gear tweaking.
Also, considering to choose Demolitionist as my second class instead of Inquisitor if i don't get bored of GD by then.

Doing a lot of reading... visual novels.

On PS5, I am playing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim by VanillaWare. It's spil into to game types: Walking around, talking with people, progressing the story, and then a fairly simple rtwp combat, where you use giant robots to fight invading kaiju. There's a lot of things going on, and a lot of time jumping. Alarm bells might be ringing, but I like it so far. Stay away if you detest weeb games.

The second Ace Attorney game on Switch. Funny, and over the top characters, and good music. Cases are whacky, so if you're not into that sort of thing, avoid. The music perfectly fits the game and hypes you up.
Both of these games are amazing. The third AA game is the best in the frachise, as far as I am concerned.

I've been playing Stasis: Bone Totem. The first Stasis was just good and Cayne is mediocre, but this one has been great so far. Top-notch atmosphere and great characters.

I've also been playing Curse of the Azure Bonds. A while ago I bought the entire Forgotten Realms Archives from GOG, but only played Pool of Radiance. I quite enjoyed the experience, so decided to go through the rest of the series. Luckily I'll be able to do so quickly this time (Pool of Radiance took a while, since I had to put it on ice for a few months).

I received Rogue Trader as a gift, but probably won't be able to touch it until January.

btw all of the Dungeon Siege talk made me decide to finally play Legends of Aranna expansion for the first time. Weirdly it doesn't seem to be part of the Dungeon Siege collection on gog...

EDIT: it's not on Steam either. Same with DS2 expansion

EDIT2: Apparently it used to be included on Steam but they removed it for unknown reason. This is a way to play it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1148174213

There was some bullshit with both the expansions for DSI and DSII on Steam. Once you install them they delete your save files or something like that. Make sure to enable the expansions before starting your game and not mid-play.

Any of you tried DSIII? I'm interested in hearing what the Codex thinks about it.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Nox Archaist is done and dusted. In the end, it was a fun 2020 game, that still made you nostalgic. Some QoL stuff were added, like quick combat, diagonal attacks, etc. However, I would have loved a soundtrack, but it might not have worked on the Apple II.

Now, I won't start any new games in 2023. I need to finish up several games that I have already started.

Very boring and forgettable imo.

It's not even like it's offensively bad so much as it's so completely BSB that if you have the option to play almost anything else, you're doing yourself a disservice by playing DS3.
I only remember that it has local couch coop for 2 players, which is basically the only reason why I checked it out. But it was very bland, and we never finished it. It also reminds me of the fate of Sacred 3, which was also turned into an action game with couch coop. Sacred 3 was actually decent as action couch coop game, but has of course absolutely nothing in common with the other Sacred games but the title, just like DS3.

I actually finished DS3 some time ago. Had a laptop that couldn't run much of anything I wanted to play, so I gave it a shot. It was okey, but I had really nasty frame drops on the last boss and couldn't finish him on the hardest difficulty. I might replay it just for the achievement. Dungeon Siege is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine.

I remember losing it when I saw this guy.

I mean if this isn't proof that nobody was taking this game seriously I don't know what is.

It's the typical 15hr Square Enix game that you forget about after a day or so. Something like the new Tomb Raiders they have been pumping out, but much worse.

Dungeon Siege 3 had a few cool characters, and a couple of cool boss fights, but they were wasted on the epitome of a 6/10 game.

I remember liking the expansion. Which is unusual for me as I generally haven't come across desert like stuff that I really enjoy in video games.
Deserts in real life are pretty cool tho.

I'm trying to finish Subnautica, dropped it long ago for no real reason. It has been fun but I heard the second one isn't that good tho, so idk about that one.

After I'm done I want to try Dredge or maybe finish FFV.

Playing RCT2 (via OpenRCT).

While the core gameplay is fun and vastly improves on the original, the scenarios in this game are pure :decline:. While the difficulty curve being whacky, as this video covers, is true, there's an even bigger issue with the campaign: Most of the levels devolve into the same strategy: Clear the horribly unoptimized trash you start with, then use the mad dosh you get "back" to build an optimal grid park. Only three of fifteen scenarios have interesting terrain to work around without also being infinite money (and thus a simple matter to delete it and make a grid path), but two of them you literally can't fail and the last is what OpenRCT2 designates the hardest mission.

For the past 36 hours (in-game time) I have been playing/reading The House in Fata Morgana and I really regret starting this as it drags on and on and on and on (and on).

The House in Fata Morgana
A gothic suspense tale set in a cursed mansion. "The House in Fata Morgana" is a full-length visual novel spanning nearly a millennium that deals in tragedy, human nature, and insanity.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever managed to play through all the scenarios in the expansions to the first one, so I never knew how janky the sequel got. Reminds me of how older games would have sequels with experts in mind, yet that one doesn't have the logical curve that would suggest. I wonder what happened?

I have a ten year old Win 7 machine with a lowly Intel 4000 integrated video card, and it runs Dungeon Siege just fine on max settings.
Some areas look very nice:

Can someone tell octavius to make sure to play Dungeon Siege 2 after, because it's an overall improvement over DS1, IMO. It should also run decent on an integrated graphics card.

PS: He has me on ignore (as well as half the Codex).

octavius Maybe try DSII after too. It's not so bad and it has these ultimate moves that make enemies explode. Literally. It generally builds upon the DSI formula and adds some twists. Tho keep in mind the party size is smaller and is linked to the difficulty you play on.

I went back to playing only one game at a time until I'm done with it before I start another game. I am already somewhat regretting it after spending 40 hours on a visual novel but at least I can say I finished it. The experience is also deeper because I don't mix up different games in my mind. It's a boring/tedious way to play sometimes but I think the reward is worth it (finishing more games, deeper experience/impact)

I think thought processes like that are given birth to when you try to put some sort of additional validation on things. Tho, I do agree that finishing things, even games, feels really good.
