Life was better when spy gadgets everything had scanlines and real buttons.

I have heard much about the hidden gemness of this here video game, but I am not sure life is long enough to endure this shit. I've never tried a third person shooter that didn't feel bad to play but this feels particularly awful. The shitty generic mid-2000s popamolity is overwhelming. Tried playing with and without a controller, and I can't decide which is worse. And WTF is this hacking minigame? The hidden gemness compells me to keep going, but I doubt I'm going to love the game THIS MUCH
if you want to skip combat, spec into pistols and stealth. it sucks anyway.
fundamentally on a gameplay level it's pure ass, made worse by the shitty checkpoint system and boss fights, but the C&C aspects and how the story evolves around you is cool. worth playing for that.

bonus shit-points for being the only mostly-stealth game ever made where your silent guns can't kill enemies in one headshot and immediately alerts everyone if you try. you need the pistol triple shot ability to kill without alerts. one of the late game pistols might have been able to kill with one headshot, but i can't remember. the silenced assault rifle can too, but those things only fire in 3 round bursts which means it's going to be down to RNG whether or not you'll get that alertless kill, while needing 3-5 business days to actually line up your shot because of the fucking deus ex shooting mechanics.
maybe this was all because of the highest difficulty and it's different on lower difficulties. but it was fucking masochism to do it on the highest diff.

Well, you fell into the codex trap (yet another one) that this a good game. I forced myself to finish it once long ago. Other than fun writing it's complete and consolized dogshit and very overhyped here. So never again for me.

Also i never used stealth because it felt even more insufferable than just shooting through every encounter.

The silver lining is that it's very short. Finished it under 14 hours lol.

Alpha Protocol is the "espionage RPG" that isn't an RPG and hardly involves any espionage. Instead, it's a cover-based shooter with poor mechanics and largely linear level design. The only notable feature is the attempt at a non-linear structure, but that isn't sufficient to make it worth playing. Don't believe their lies.
It's a TRAP!

Alpha Brotocol is the ultimate storyfag game. As such it's best enjoyed when you trivialize the gameplay sections as much as posible. To do so, you have to follow three ez steps.

Step one - play with a controller. Trust me, keyboard is in fact infinitely more ass to the point where I would regularly fall through textures and punch walls instead of interacting with consoles when trying to make kb/m work.

Step two - forget about stealth. It doesn't work and you have no way of knowing if enemies can see you.

Step three - fully spec into pistols to unlock the instant win Awesome Button (tm).

Following the above steps you will unlock the hidden gemness you've been missing. Extra advice - play it with a bro and then compare notes on your respective sessions. It will be like you two are playing entirelly different games.

look at these pansy-ass niggas and their pistols, lmao, you are all weak as a baby fart

to get the ultimate alpha protocol experience, what you have to do is shave your head, get ancient chinese facial hair, and spec all skill points into hand to hand and smgs

after that you enter every encounter mashing buttons at random without even looking in any specific direction while enemies die from the random spread meat grinder of your dual gatling uzis

BE PLOUD MISTA WOO

Alpha Crapacol is a huge pile of manure and anyone thinking otherwise is dumb. It's a bad shooter, a bad espionage game involving no espionage and a bad RPG.

It reminds us that Obshitian never did a good game.

Obsi are writers, not developers lol. Even their overdesigned by autist shit like PoE is just boring BG2 clone. I know you hate New Vegas, but ironically this was their best game lmao.

Avellone is a badass rapist

John Gonzalez was a lead writer for NV. And story and character wise this was their best game. Then a lot of people left, the rest become super woke and retarded, and Avellone doesn't even write anymore.

Kotor2 was good also, i think Avellone was a lead writer there?

Beyond Citadel. Now I wish every FPS game have it's gunplay.
First time I'm hearing of this game. Checked its Steam page and I see that 32GB of RAM and RTX 2070 are RECOMMENDED to play it? It looks worse than Half Life! Does it use mind blowing physics that need to be calculated with extraordinary precision or what the fuck is going on here? Is my 8GB and 1060 going to melt?

RO2, recommends a 512 mb graphic's card and a 2.6 GHz quadcore. I was there 3000 years ago with Unity arrived on the scene.

No idea what's going on there but I'm playing it on 3570k/970gtx and it's 100% fine, SOMEHOW I doubt it looks very different on ultras (sprite galore). By the way, a very nice shooter if you aren't bothered too much with the oneme crap here and there.

I was starting to organize my ridiculously large library so it's easier to find stuff & help those I have on family share when I stumbled upon this:

I lost my entire evening and skipped things I had to do. Genius. Addicting arcade gameplay coupled with being able to listen to your own tracks which gets you even more pumped. I only stopped because I got killed on the last 5 seconds of a 9 minute black metal song I put on sending me into full tilt

yeah this was very addicting, just ridiculously fun to play a game where the gameplay is created based on the song you choose, took away from my RPG time. Guess I'll get the newest version if I'm craving it again but time to get back into RPGs again..

IIRC, the players chooses 3 of the skills for specialization, and the trifecta of pistols, stealth, and technical aptitude (for the brilliance ability that resets the cooldowns of other abilities) is extremely overpowered, but the combat combined with the level design is still too dull for the game to be recommended merely for the non-linear structure or C&C.
