Because it's a cutscene.

If the writing in the book is even remotely similiar to what is found in The Twitcher or if Gerlat comes across as the same loser in the novels then yeah the book is garbage.
So you guys haven't even read the books, yet you are first to judge. Oh how silly.

And how can the writing in the book and in the game be similar? The former was written by an award winning author, and the latter was written by a guy at CD Projekt. CD Projekt only used the Witcher universe, and characters in the game, but they have written the story themselves.
The writing in the game is better than the books.
:M
:what:
The Witcher books read like scripts for movies.

The Witcher game has much more going on, and a different feel about it, almost folkish in its telling.

Bro, you are sure you read the books, not watched the movies? Because that's the way how I feel about the novels. They do have folkish feel about them.

Scripts of the movies? They really must have fucked up those later translations :retarded:

There was definitely some translational bugs in the English versions of Last Wish and Blood of Elves but they read just fine -- especially if you compare them to something like native English works of RA Salvatore or a host of other popular fiction novels.

Cutscene vs. cutscene... what's the point? TW still looks better anyway

One thing I like about The Witcher's visuals, is that the knights in heavy armour do not look like retarded caricatures, as can be seen in the shot Suchy posted. I love the pot helmets. Still, instead of wearing plate armour, they could wear chainmail and look something like this, which would be even better:

Knight_1200.jpg

The clowns in the DA2 screenshot however look completely ridiculous in comparison, like having jumped out from an episode of Xena: The Warrior Princess. Hell, the blonde guy could be Iolaus, the chick could be Gabrielle, and the guy with emo hair in the middle could be Xena with the Girdle of Masculinity (I know the names since I watched Xena and Heracles as a kid. Not really embarassed of it, but still thought I'd mention it just in case).

His face still has more details in game and from a distance, than that DA2 cutscene dwarf.

Ahh, much much better.

Shame I have to add everyday a new Drog alt to ignore list. It's getting tiresome.

Yeah, TW had some cool character models. Too bad the main character looked like a fucking tool, but at least everyone else looked alright. DA looks ridiculous.
