Would you play 9/10 combat game with 1/10 unskippable story?

I've played a lot of jrpgs that have poor stories but enamored me in one way or another.
again, "poor stories" is not 1/10. 1/10 is not "dumb", "boring" or something like this. most of the shit mentioned in this thread is "meh" or "mediocre" at worst. "poor but charming" is certainly not 1/10.
1/10 is all of the above WITHOUT any redeeming qualities.
I'm answering the spirit of the question, not debating about what a 1/10 story actually is. I would argue that a story culminating in the protagonists finding their entire existence is actually just a simulated video game being erased is a 1/10 story, as an example. That's beside the point though.

No absolutely not, and I wouldn't play a 10/10 story with shit combat. You gotta get everything right. Would you buy a horse with a single lame leg?

Nope because anything that is supossed to be a GAME pretends to be a film don't deserve my attention and time when i could just watch an actual movie instead.

This has really been a case by case to me. I bought somes games knowning what I was going into yet still quit after 5 hours because the story pissed me off too much, yet enjoyed to the end some games with absolutely terrible stories as well.

Are the games with unskippable cutscenes/dialogues still being made, besides streamer bait horror shlock?

I'm also counting ones where you need to touch the poop actually follow the story/dialogue or otherwise you would have no idea what you need to do.

You can blow past all story content in a game like Jagged Alliance 3 or nu-XCOM and it wouldn't matter too much.

But if you're skipping literally everything in a traditional cRPG besides combat, it would be a miserable experience not worth the time.

It's more likely to get 5/10 for combat, being very generous, and 1/10 for the story. I watched the gameplay video of Veilguard, as that's what we are really talking about, not some hypothetical imaginary game. I was bored after a few minutes and really don't see anything enticing at all to me.
