Well, there're combatfags and storyfags or so they say but personally, I'm a bothfag. I like RPGs precisely because mechanics and story are going hand in hand. I don't mind combat-focused RPGs or story-focused ones (yeah yeah) but character interactions in general should be meaningful. Even if I play a murderhobo it makes a difference whom exactly I'm killing if that makes sense. So in WotR's case when so many characters and the whole setting are so repulsive I just have no desire to play in it.Aren't most CRPGs played for their mechanics and not the story? I can count the number of the ones with worthwhile writing on one hand. You are correct that the build variety in PoE is about as exciting as its writing though.
Why one night stands? I was talking about something like Morrigan's offer or sex in exchange for something or at least between party members which might have implications. That sort of stuff. If we're talking about meaningless sex then I'd prefer to don't include it at all because yeah it's unclear how to tie it on game's mechanics. Either way, if sex doesn't really add up with the game's flow then it's better to be dropped.Uh, what kind of "character development" do you expect from a random one night stand? Some XP? Temporary morale boost for the few games that feature it as a stat? Slightly uncomfortable disease that doesn't actually affect your day to day murderhoboing?
Maybe sex in games should be treated like food (where food is done properly, i.e. URW or Kenshi). You don't get anything from having it regularly, but skip it for a while, and you are in the world of hurt.
I don't mind political themes in general but I strongly dislilke preachy approach to them. Which is the case in WotR.So what is your objection, actually? You don't like any politics in any mass (however, Wrath is not that "mass") entertainment product or you don't like politics that contradicts your values?

- Ugh, would you fuck off with this shit?
