Fun fact: people used to have sex so much in cemeteries and churches that religious authorities issued extensive degrees against copulation in those areas specifically.

Why?

Because historically, most domiciles did not provide adequate privacy for sex. So it was either doing the deed in full view of your family, or finding a quiet corner somewhere to shag in.

Historically people in a household all slept in the same bed, yet you still had families with 7+ kids.

Sure, sex related stuff by itself is almost always trigger some folks around here since many of them think that simply doesn't belong to games like this but that's a different story.

I found it cringe in The Witcher too, and in that game it was supposed to "belong".

Then again, i find sex scenes cringe in movies too.

Then why people here define good writing as something with "male paladins"

Because nobody gives a shit about the individual real literature is all about archetypes and ideas.

The people who consume this kind of media are the last ones to understand this, as evidenced by the kind of writing that goes on in fan fiction.

Me too. I usually cover my eyes up or hide under my blanket when sex scenes pop up. It just makes me feel uncomfortable seeing that stuff on TV.

That's not the point it just looks pathetic and retarded. I've been rolling my eyes at sex scenes in movies ever since i saw the one in The Terminator as a kid.

Ever notice how R-rated/mature rated movies have tons of blood and gore but no sex scenes and almost zero debate nudity.
That's just an American thing tbh. Films from other countries have tons of nudity

Although even then I'm somewhat skeptical of the "American's hate sex!" meme. Don't think I've ever watched an adult television show that wasn't filled with sex

I think it's just that Americans were more sheltered from the cultural poison that swept through Europe destroying modesty. Europe got a bad deal with lots of revolutions and wars, that led to traditions there being destroyed and seen as backwards and silly, while this kind of overt destruction only started inthe USA with the free love movement.

Historically people had houses with more than one room in our part of the globe for many generations. And not all social groups lived like that even earlier. In addition it wasn't like "historically" they lined up children specifically for them watch a porno-show made by parents. Even a blanket gives some intimacy. I love those pseudo-historical "arguments".

I'll give you another "good" argument to use in the future. Historically among poor peasantry there was a problem of some, mostly young men, becoming zoophiles. I mean it seriously. It happened because there was often a group of men so poor that they didn't have the chance to marry but at the same there was no surplus of (available) women. Read about, it is a fairly unknown social (sexual?) phenomenon including certain agricultural population before industrialisation. Possibly present even today in some parts of 3rd Worldia. Lets's bring the argument: "Make zoophllia legal and present in media. People did that historically!".

Historically people also used to wipe their asses with leaves and worship trees.

Any truth to this Potionseller Storyteller being a pedo thing?

He's an ancient mincing faggot of several centuries of age. Everyone he sleeps with is a child in comparison and it gets worse when you consider interspecies trysts with humans and the like.

So every elf that mates with human is a pedo?

I've yet to see a well-done sex scene in a game.
Meanwhile, Rusty strongly retaliates when anybody points out even the slightest amount of degeneracy in Baldur's Gayt 3, by defaming them as tranny lovers and such.

Banging an adult that's younger than you does not make you a pedo.

Aren't most CRPGs played for their mechanics and not the story? I can count the number of the ones with worthwhile writing on one hand. You are correct that the build variety in PoE is about as exciting as its writing though.
Well, there're combatfags and storyfags or so they say but personally, I'm a bothfag. I like RPGs precisely because mechanics and story are going hand in hand. I don't mind combat-focused RPGs or story-focused ones (yeah yeah) but character interactions in general should be meaningful. Even if I play a murderhobo it makes a difference whom exactly I'm killing if that makes sense. So in WotR's case when so many characters and the whole setting are so repulsive I just have no desire to play in it.
Uh, what kind of "character development" do you expect from a random one night stand? Some XP? Temporary morale boost for the few games that feature it as a stat? Slightly uncomfortable disease that doesn't actually affect your day to day murderhoboing?

Maybe sex in games should be treated like food (where food is done properly, i.e. URW or Kenshi). You don't get anything from having it regularly, but skip it for a while, and you are in the world of hurt.
Why one night stands? I was talking about something like Morrigan's offer or sex in exchange for something or at least between party members which might have implications. That sort of stuff. If we're talking about meaningless sex then I'd prefer to don't include it at all because yeah it's unclear how to tie it on game's mechanics. Either way, if sex doesn't really add up with the game's flow then it's better to be dropped.
So what is your objection, actually? You don't like any politics in any mass (however, Wrath is not that "mass") entertainment product or you don't like politics that contradicts your values?
I don't mind political themes in general but I strongly dislilke preachy approach to them. Which is the case in WotR.
- Here, look at how nigger orc-female and some other female (and there's more to that, ahem) are in love with each other! Look at it, you bigot!!
- Ugh, would you fuck off with this shit?
