I thought the first time you got loot, Punished Badford tells you that ADVENT rigged their stuff to explode just like the old aliens?

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Bubbles In Memoria
They really did not fuck around with difficulties. Commander attempt no 2 ended in another party wipe. Motherfuckers dropped reinforcements almost right on unactivated pod behind the corner.
Hilarity ensues.

Thinking of starting normal ironman to see what's what, cause I get pasted despite the fact I ended the first one on ironman classic :D

As for performance: TURN OFF THE FUCKING ACTION CAMERA. I'm serious. Also drop to FXAA or off the damn thing, because that sure as hell is taxing.

Yea legend seems pretty hard, toned down to commander for now, since i couldnt get past mission 2 without multiple deaths (1 caused by zombra who was mind controlled). Failing at hacking and getting bombed with reinforcements 3 hexes away didnt help too.

Restarted my game, so you live. But you are a scientist now. Just saved you in Siberia :)
I'm guessing you won't see much action in my current game.

If you don't like the gender of the random mook you got for some kind of theme, just change it through where you can change their name as well.
Oh? Thanks man, didn't even think to check there outside of the pool bit from the main menu. I'll give it a check.

Because you can't that I know of?
As far as I know you can retrain skills within a class later on via building option and you can train rookies to be a specific class almost from the get go.

Yea did that and helped a little with slight pauses but for some reason I still get some action cams and slowmos here and there, weird.
AA's really not needed and is indeed a massive hog otherwise. Aside from that I'm running the x64 .exe and shit's going up toward 6gb RAM on the strategic layer, then clears up a bit to 2-3gb on the tactical layer. 50-60fps overall (apart from scenes which all bring me down toward 30dps) but it's not a framerate issue for me, it's not a graphical issue (runs fine really), it's just...The game's not fluid, it's pausing all the time when I shoot, when enemies shoot, when they appear, when there's movement, anything, everything, there's a slight pause, sometimes not so slight, and it looks really bad (and is fucking annoying).

Lancers are the new fucking Cryssalids on steroid...with guns. Fuck...these..guys and their fucking suicidal AI :)

Fuck the difficulty. Commander wipes me while Veteran seems too easy cause basic mobs are 3 healt = grenade. I guess ini tweaking or something is in order
That's what I said about EW normal and classic.
I figured out something about "random" rookie promotions: the game "wants" you to have equal numbers of every class. If you have 3 Grenadiers, 3 Sharpshooters, 3 Rangers, and 2 Specialists, your next Squaddie promotion WILL become a Specialist. If you have 3/3/2/2 then it will flip a coin between the last two. Tested on Veteran difficulty only.
Why when you can retrain?
Because you can't that I know of? :|
You can train rookies. Thus the class ballancing isn't necessary, and more importantly it kills replayability.

In that video guy stated that Vertical Sync should be turned off because with it Firaxis gone full UbiSoft. His FPS sunk from60-70 to ~30. Also, turn off any antialising. But main FPS shit is caused by vertical sync.

My complete inability to make any non-blond soldier look like it's not an arab and the copious amount of explosives I use every mission makes me feel like I am actually playing a terrorist simulator.
Very good game

so at first i played the tutorial on commander, first two real mission were all with timers, the fucking tutorial missions!! Fucking retardo designers and producers, many got put off by this. Then i just started again without the retardo tutorial and there you go it works, not every mission has a timer, but playing on Veteran... for now.

So far, its ok, but the performance needs help, the shooting and spoting through walls is retarded beyond anything, the amount of weapons is zero for the first 1-2 months, but you get to upgrade them with loot, the campaign map is clearly an upgrade in a good way, will see how it goes more, not bad but absolutely shity launch, i havent bought a game on launch day in years, and now i did it again, fucking regret it, again...

Those shitty youtubers man, they are as a worse as IGN these days.

are sectoids always armed? I was sure they could only use their psi abilities, so I moved one of my dudes when the faceless revealed itself only to get blasted by said sectoid (first time he ever used a weapon in say 5 missions)

Make the Codex Great Again! RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I had this one time where I had a guy standing on the 2nd floor of a building, with an enemy inside the building on the ground floor (no conceivable LOS) on overwatch, then my guy climbed the outside of the building to the roof. The overwatch shot went off somehow and my guy froze in place and I could no longer select him and no one could shoot at him. He just stood there frozen in mid-run, as if surgically removed from time itself. This was completely replicable.

I reloaded a save.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Played around a dozen hours but I think I'm going to stop and wait for a patch or two.

I've seen tons of silly little bugs that are just annoying, plus stupid things like a watchtower held up by only a ladder. :?

Game is pretty fun though, getting my ass kicked even on Veteran difficulty.

hohoho, with the anti-beaglerush protocols in AI behaviour I had a faceless morph out in the aliens turn, rush to two of my dudes and kill one + critically wound the other. With its bullshit running range it is horryfying. And I was like ~10 tiles from that motherfucker pretending to be civvy.

I meant to use the Rogue's sword after the dash move but I didn't know you had to select the sword first. Needless to say the Faceless rekkt me.

I'm beginning to rethink legend + ironman for a first playthrough... the combat is totally manageable, but I've had a couple mission fails over turn limits on objectives, including one that cost me my entire squad when they and the VIP were 1 turn away from the evac point. I thoroughly enjoy how the mechanic forces the issue (especially when Meld did such a poor job of that in EW), but the combination of the slim margin of error and the potentially crippling punishments might be a bit much for an ironman playthrough, at least when there's still so much of the game that I have yet to see.

So. I really enjoy the game, but there are some issues. LOS like you guys talked about. I was running around, spotted nothing, okay cool. Put some of my troops on overwatch, some reloaded thinking I was safe. But then when I moved up the last guy, he suddenly triggered a horde of aliens that no one else managed to spot. Not even my recon guy. That ended in a mess, since the aliens get two freaking moves. Oh well. Then the faceless ones. When they get "spotted" they move incredible far, and can take a serious beating. Those melee guys sure are a pain in the butt, such a pain it makes me angry actually :). Because, the faceless one is kinda cool, I can take it. But those stun-rod wielding suicide troopers. They can run across the map, and when they stun one your dudes they are basically KO the whole match. I even tried to heal them, but I guess it was sleepy time. And with the low amount of troops you got on the field, it just makes for a frustrating experience.

The firefights I like though. The machete class could go. I rather just have my assault to be honest. Brining a sword to a gun fight, oh well. I also miss my pistols. I run out of ammo constantly, but for some reason 20 years in the future nobody was considering taking a sidearm with them as a good idea, except the sniper.
