Rage quit after 30+ hours with the game.

I don't know, but for some reason all my missions are filled with enemies. Either that or I'm really bored by now.

Last mission - I need to hack an alien relay - so I sneak very close to the location of the relay and I try to hack it. Of course, whenever I do that the entire map becomes a Christmas tree: 2 Andromedons, 2 Mutons, 4 Elite something, 1 Big Robot and something incoming.

Well, I finished many missions with Flawless but I cannot take it anymore - too much trash for my taste. And surprisingly, the game requires less tactics the further you go or I should say that the unbalance increases with each passing week. Fuck this.

Look, one hilarious picture:

The lack of AoE options means either having a team of 3x grenadiers or disregarding stealth alltogether. Killing the pods 1 by 1 is far easier than trying to stealth your way to the target.

A clusterfuck like this could be avoided if you were able to place mines, claymores and other traps while in stealth. That would be an interesting sidegrade for a grenadier. Just get rid of all the non-explosive skills nobody ever picks like blast padding, holo targeting and hail of bullets and replace them with different trap skills.

Got raped hard in my last Blacksite mission. Got through two pods and an unexpected gun placement all fine and dandy. Then got to the big gizmo. At which point two pods spring into action. A third one activating the next turn. Apparantly they were on the roof and I somehow missed them.

Game over for that squad. Love this game.

I don't think you realize how software development works. Complaining a complex game has bugs at release is like complaining that rain is wet. It's going to happen. I am not saying it's good or desirable but it's practically impossible to catch all the bugs in a complex or big game. It'd take an extra year of testing and that's absolutely not worth it.

- melee through walls never happened to me
- never lost concealment unintentionally
- grenade targeting is a feature, not a bug. free targeting used to be OP
- performance issues are not bugs
- LOS issues only occur in very specific maps
- game being slow is not a bug
- that could be a bug or it could be shoddy coding.

I am not convinced.

:what:

This is a big and established company, bugs like this for 50$+ are nono, it screams of bad project management. Basically all last 3 games from Firaxis were garbage when it come to launch performance, bugs and so on, much like Creative Assembly, but on mild level.

What Jasede wants to talks about, its about hard to reproduce bugs, that happens 1% or about bugs that happen only complex situations(many steps to reproduce, very low chance to occur), but what we have, are clear bugs, that they were left in. They were out of time, so they just launch it. Basically "Fuck it, they are so many jasedes out there, they will buy it." You would be surprised how many times this happens in AAA industry, due to incompetent producers.

I've run in to plenty of bugs so far. Most common one is blowing a hole in the second story of a building and the soldiers standing there not falling through. That's happened to me about three or four times, and it's a bit annoying (they're perfectly killable, but the game still counts them as being on the second floor, so I have to re-position my soldiers to deal with them). I've had other niggly ones too, like my combat/haywire protocol not working on Andromedons in the same turn that they've been killed and the suit's taken over.

I've only come across one kind of bug that I would consider to be really potentially mission-ruining: on two separate occasions, I've been deployed on a mission standing right next to an enemy, instantly blowing my concealment.

Overall though, the game's still playable. I haven't run in to anything that's really game-breaking, so I'm not too fussed.

No dude, it's just that the bugs appear rarely. I've 30 hours of playtime and saw 2-3 times LOS bugs. Still didn't see the melee through walls or vipers through walls or concealment breaking for no reason or whatever.
For the amount of features and systems the game provides, the release is pretty good except for the performance part I guess. Although I don't have any issues as I've said so many times that I got bored of myself already.
So, no, there is no evil scheme. It's just that people think that there is bug-free software, especially on day one.
Since there are literally no game-breaking bugs it's unfair to call on them so harshly when major games are coming out in unplayable states more than often.

yo so I remember researching some add on for psi soldiers, but I don't remember where to build them/order them.

I checked the proving grounds, the engineering section, the black market, I'm positive I saw a s creen where I "learned" about tools for psi soldiers. any help? Also, kinda lame how snipers and psi use the same armor.

Also, what's up with the Proving Grounds not telling you what each thing produces after you've completed them?

How do I rush psi troopers when I'm so fucking poor and underteched and undermanned all game long? serious question.

I'm playing veteran and I don't understand how to make money. I've been forced to do missions with all rookies (rarely losing more than 1) because atleast 60% of my roster is injured at any time

I "rushed" the psi lab ... making it the 6th thing I built. Honestly I have no idea how all the shit I need is going to fit on this ship at all.

Did anyone else think the graphics quality and style were really bad? The only good part of it were the very detailed characters.

The environments looked like some threw down some props without any thought to it. The colors often seem just bizarre, and the props themselves have this obvious "blocky" feeling to them.

I mean look at this shit

I didnt encounter show stopping bugs up to now. Only performance issue is the mission loading screen stutter, and my pc is far from cutting edge. Meanwhile another loss, next restart will be non IM though, better i learn the tricks of all new enemies first.

The procedural maps are great but im guessing also a source of geometric bugs and sometimes spikes in difficulty due to enemy and objective placement.

Its under build items in the engineering section.

Holy shit snipers sharpshooters are even more OP in this game.

Kill Zone demolishes entire pods while Serial is even more powerful than In The Zone.

I can't wait for mods or Second Wave options to let other classes to use these skills.

They already can in the base game. Build an advanced war center

Anyway, I found that if you get to october, the game begins to say "fuck you" and starts introducing minor breakthrough dark events every month, which cannot be countered.

I guess the game really doesn't want you to stall.
