I am literally quoting what you wrote and responding to it using the most direct common-sense logic.
Cool cool. Could you then please literally quote again the part where I claimed that you need to climb towers in order to be able to go anywhere? Or the post where I stated that grinding is necessary to beat the game?

Right here:

"Yes truly transcendent, because climbing towers to unlock maps, grinding level-scaled enemies for crafting ingredients, lacking any meaningful progression, tons of busywork and content that values quantity over quality was all I ever really wanted from a Zelda game."

"because climbing towers to unlock maps" - unlocking maps in video games means being able to go there

"grinding level-scaled enemies for crafting ingredients" - since you have this in your short list of what BotW supposedly is all about, then presumably this very clearly implies that grinding is a central part of the game.

Yuzu has severe graphical bugs at the moment, especially lighting, clouds, etc.

What do you mean by chasms?
Sorry, the depths. Very little was rendering down there two days ago. Just a bunch of black on the floor. Now I see it all, after new update on startup.

I thought I might be okay with the overworld being copied over from the last game, since I only played it once, but I remember the map better than I thought. OF COURSE I do, after how many shrines I finished. I know I'm being fabulously optimistic when I hope that it gets dinged significantly in reviews for this. Majora's Mask recycled a lot of assets too, but was much cleverer about it.

The way this recycles the overworld and redoes shrines and divine beasts might put it closer to something like Ura Zelda than Majora.

Majora's mask recicled a lot of assets, but they improved them too. Also it's a complete different game from OOT.

In comparison, the new Zelda looks way more conservative as a sequel. For better or worse.

You whiny bitches should stop whining. BotW was a transcendent open world game.
Gotta agree with Porkster on this one. Open world games were all shit for the majority of that decade until BotW came along and blew my mind. I also believe BotW indirectly contributed to Elden Ring's creation which is even bigger incline.

I'm pretty stoked for friday. Not too concerned about them reusing the same map as long as it's filled with completely new shit. Also the underworld sounds cool.

Reading this thread, what blows me away is the whining about how BOTW ruined "classic Zelda"

BOTW got made for a reason, 'classic' Zelda - i.e. everything after the 64 days, was turning to shit. Hell, Ocarina of Time isn't that good - Majora's Mask is great, but that's because it shot off from the OOT formula in a bunch of weird ways. Everything after was just the same formula, with the same constant tutorials over and over - and it was constant diminishing returns Windwaker was worse than Majora. Twilight Princess was worse than Windwaker. Skyward Sword was worse than Twilight Princess.

Unless you mean classic Zelda like the first one - which BOTW takes after more than any other Zelda game.

Mostly agree with your post, but this is a hard no.
TP might be a 2000's edgy Ocarica rethread, bit it's dungeons are better designed and more engaging than any of WW dungeons.
TP Sky City and Snowpeak Ruins are legit excellent and unique dungeons, TP water temple is imo only behind MM analogue and the atmosphere of Arbiter's Ground (also I quite like this dungeon's use of enviromental hazards) and Hyrule Castle are some of the best in the series.
Meanwhile I struggle to remember a single dungeon from WW, despite having played it after TP - the pirates hideout is about the only dungeon in that game that stands out for me and that is because it's a type of level not done in the rest of the series

Some Nintendo media accounts are claiming that the game has dungeons in classic fashion. Can anyone who has played the leaked game confirm or deny this?

I've only finished two of them but no, I would not describe them as "classic fashion". They are larger than the Divine Beasts and are themed after their location, however, they still fallback on the same activate 4-5 objects that require solving 1-2 puzzles design that the Divine Beasts used.

The lead ups to the dungeons are lengthier though which I did enjoy in both cases.

It's an improvement but I would temper expectations.

Lol here's a map of the sky islands.

Shockingly pathetic, considering this is what Nintendo spent 90% of their advertising on.

I'm assuming the big one in the center is either the starting area or a dungeon.

Apparently the game has an underworld that is roughly the size of the Hyrule map.
