Gaming journalists need to be put on a cross. "Muh entitlement" doesn't even work here. Standing in front of a crowd of PC gamers and presenting them a mobile game is retarded, and shows how disconnected you are from reality.
But Blizzard is entitled to everyone's money. Haven't you been listening?

Looks like a mobile game, alright. From a Chinese company that is rather hated by Chinese gamers for being very greedy and including P2W mechanics.
This is one of the best train wrecks in years.
Really? I thought the makers of Wartune, R2 Games was the most hated?

Heres a great idea, lets open our yearly convention, one that people have come to for years and buy virtual tickets to view from home, that we use to showcase great and new things to keep our exceedingly loyal fanbase excited and engaged with out products, primarily PC products with some recent crossovers into console markets, lets make the headline attraction be a MOBILE GAME THAT WE FARMED OUT TO A CHINESE STUDIO NOTABLE FOR MAKING F2P MICROTRANSACTION GARBAGE, or literally ANYTHING ELSE WE HAVE MADE IN HOUSE. Lets go with the outsourced game, it will really set the entire mood of the convention.

Utter godamn retardation, arrogance, pigheaded, out of touch grade S hubris on display.

This tops 'you think you do, but you dont' by a country mile and then some.

Wow, what a train wreck. Unfortunately I doubt heads will roll after this at actiblizz because the Chinese market will most likely rake in the cash anyway, being what it is, something which the idiots who thought selling this as the big blizzcon thing will be using to save their skin.

They should have hyped up the Warcraft 3 remaster as the big thing and announce this as a secondary thing. This kind of brand damage will not be fixed easily.

It's a reskin of this game, made by the same chinese company who's making Diablo Immortal
what a coincidence!

Even the UI is the same

Its gets worse

Those chinese guys must have helped in the Mist of Pandaria expansion after finishing this game since they have been partners for 10 years.

Also i find it very bizarre that in the gameplay trailer we dont see any type of gore anywhere, enemies getting hit just fall over, they dont gib or explode in gore. If i recall correctly there is some stupid shit in China where you cant show gore, ghosts, skulls, skeletons and stuff like that in games or movies. So the game probably wont have gore (but they will try to spin it as a "family friendly Diablo") but they still showed a Necromancer with skeletons, i just dont know what the fuck this reskin is going to be anymore.

You know what all of this is?
It's the result of a new generation of devs and publishers handling intellectual properties they had no hand in creating. Blizzard, Firaxis, Bioware and so forth are simply riding on the success of their elders and betters but those people are gone and the rest of the staff has no idea what to do. Or rather: They have zero connection to the audience those IPs originally attracted. Instead they focus on what they know, which is mobile garbage.

Holy shit those twitter NPCs bitching about "toxic masculinity" and "muh entitlement" because people are opposed to the idea of their favorite franchise being turned into an obvious cash-crab for mobiles. At this point I can't even laugh at this any more, it's just sad. It's like laughing at a deformed crippled kid who can only blurt out the same two words due to severe mental retardation.

You also have to keep in Blizzard had essentially created nothing but WoW content for a decade or so before they attempted Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. Former largely avoided most of the shenanigans, minus splitting the campaign into three games, by sticking as close a possible to the original and falling back on e-sports scene for easy attention, but Diablo 3 sadly fell too heavily under the shadow of precisely what you described - Diablo was never Blizzard's own IP in anything but ownership rights and was handled by an entirely different team now long fractured and gone. I still don't know what went wrong with Diablo 3 even if you ignore the RMAH disaster. Blizzard simply never understood it and even when they were seemingly on the right path with the expansion they over-corrected and trivialized core game objectives in the process.

Immortal is yet again handed to an unrelated third developer so fuck it.

I feel genuinely sorry for the programmers and wage-slaves on all levels involved in this. What a fucking shit-show. Imagine being one of those fuckers out on the floor, and sure you're being paid, but let's be real, people generally want to be helpful and be helped one way or another, and it must be just downright fucking depressing to see things received this way and just fall through. The disdain in the air must've been so thick it would've assumed physical form and eaten the participants in any less realistic universe than our own.

Not that I blame the fans and the participants. The ones to blame are the completely disconnected-from-reality executives and the commercial SocJus-brigades that are cheering them on, selling the actual workers and creators out to make shit like this and hold the event in such a way. And the retard journos applaud it. Yes, suck corporate cock some more, please, you maximum tards.

So now it's up to Beamdog to make Diablo 2 Enhanced Edition

:D
How?? Will we have Cain coming on to the Barbarian, Atma to the Sorceress?

On second thoughts, please leave D2 alone, cuckdog.

Make the Codex Great Again!
Imagine having paid $200 for the opportunity to clap for a reskinned chinese mobile Diablo game. :?

Out-of-touch doesn't really encapsulate the disconnect between Blizzard execs and those who attend their Blizzcon (and pay good money for it) - most are hardcore fans of the PC games that have made Blizzard what it is today and the rest are console gamers.

Nobody paid money, took time out of their schedule, paid for hotel and lodging to clap for a fucking mobile reskinned chinese game.
