Not surprising. It's a better IP. Also Wrath is borderline unplayable.

You could like more Warhammer as a setting but Wrath is still Dnd 3.5, not sure what you mean by unplayable, I guess you don't mean the combat?

I meant the characters and writing were so cringebad that I dropped the game even before I could complain about trash mobs or other owlcat flavors.

Paizo is a funny case, where they had all the means to make a decent 3.75 and momentum for such
But they decided to fuck over monks (fuck you Sean K. Reynolds you god damn retard), review a few spells and say fuck it to the late game spells keeping the same usual suspects broken as fuck.
The world is a hit and miss some places has cool concepts but others are this our obligatory tribute to X culture because we want to virtue signal and we have no passion over the subject.
Pathfinder 2 I really tried to get into but that shit is so barebones even after what? 4 years now? That I gave up from Tabletop RPG all together.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Decided to give this a try.

Wanted a gish style melee. Seems like Pyro Psyker is the way to go.
Briefly considered Blade Dancer, as that's apparently the current FOMO (along with the even more broken Executioner), but finally decided against prancing, jumping and dancing in front of the enemies.
Let's keep some dignity, while acting in Emperor's name!
Went with Forge World Warrior, for Heavy Armor and two-handed force swords. Might get the Sanctic Sword of Faith some day. Planning on dogmatic playtrough, of course.

Update 1.3.1.11 is live!
Lord Captains!

We are deploying an update to resolve some of the frequently reported desync cases in co-op.

While this update should improve the situation, it does not yet cover all known cases. We are still in the process of investigating and fixing more of them, and will deploy another update as soon as possible.

It will help if you report any desyncs you encounter via the bug report tool! Can be done by pressing ALT+B or pushing both sticks on a controller at once.

Note that https://steamcommunity.com/app/2186680/discussions/0/4027970580228219058/ always contains up-to-date information on known issues and the roadmap of upcoming patches.

Patch notes:

  • Fixed a few desync issues caused by Desperate Measures;
  • Fixed a few desync issues caused by Cassia’s Lidless Stare;
  • Fixed a few desync issues caused by Grand Strategist’s stratagems;
  • Fixed desync issues caused by hovering the cursor over Apexalium Stimulant in combat;
  • Fixed desync issues caused by opening the inventory in combat;
  • Fixed desync issues caused by quickly clicking through the items in the inventory;
  • Fixed desync issues caused by certain sequences of attacks and abilities;

Guessing next up on the agenda is fixing the multiplayer. Fair enough. I haven't heard anyone mention it's any good.
Also this seems to be Owlcats first attempt of making a multiplayer game.

Judging by the way Owlcat balanced this, should be optimal to pick the very worst classes
That kind of goes against my optimizer nature :negative:
Yeah no kidding haha. That's my approach lately, take the worst classes and try to optimise them

Incidentally, that’s often what I enjoy the most :P
It's actually quite a prestigious way to play, I've given up trying to make the most powerful parties/builds in an absolute sense with many games because I just end up totally unchallenged by anything the game can throw at me

I miss when games were actually hard

Hmm, seems like it might be difficult to refrain from using a chainsaw. They seem silly strong.

In retrospect, I went into Act 3 and beyond with zero expectations because of how everyone shat on those parts, so I ended up liking them more than I think I would on a completely blind run.

I also waited, so I didn't experience too many major bugs, if any, so this was also the most polished Owlcat product I've played.
