Funimation is actually decent, I guess. Viz would of likely been better, but funimation is alright, I wonder which animation house they'll get to make it, as far as I know Funimation doesn't have an in-house team of animators.

HFIL is an acronym for Home For Infinite Losers, FUNimation's dubbed name for Hell in the animes Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. They had to change the name from Hell to HFIL for obvious censorship issues. HFIL is located in the Other World and is where the dead go if their souls are not pure (mainly the Dragon Ball Z villains). Cartoon Network later aired an episode with the original marking "HELL." HFIL is occasionally used by anime fans, particularly fans of Dragon Ball Z, as a euphemism(not to mention an inside joke) for Hell.

This will be interesting.

It would be good if it was being made by a Japanese animation studio staffed by hundreds of Koreans working 12 hours days...but since it is being made by an American one...

Plus they'll record the voices in english. Bleh. I can't watch anime in english.

No, it's because their xenophobia goes to levels that most other nationalities can't even dream of. :smug:

And because DA is shit.

Weeaboo! Weeaboo!

It's clear that American voice actors have superior emoting and phrasing compared to high-pitched girly Japanese voices. :)

What's so bad in English version of anime if it's not a translation? (note: I haven't seen anything like that but let's give it a try!)

Merida, again
English dubs are always fuck up. If it's an English "Anime" it doesn't really matter; shit is bullshit anyway.

I read somewhere that a couple of the Halo animes were actually really good (considering what they were working with, after all) with an engaging narrative and, you know, hardly anything like the idiotic source material.

The Dragon Age anime might actually be worth watching - because it has a good chance of being a unique adventure that is DA in name only. I mean, Gaider isn't actually writing it, right?

*wonders why this is a newspost*

Who honestly thinks that Dragon Age had a decent story, or the setting is worth exploring? Seriously.

Shitfest is right. A decision like this is based on one thing: the realisation of the potential in capitalising on the rise of the popular sub-culture of Dragon Age anime comics, instigated by Bioware's over-reliance on romance mechanics in the first place I might add.

Fortunately I greatly disliked Dragon Age artistic direction to begin with and have no interest in it as a franchise, but it is a very ominous sign of what kind of rape will happen to a franchise if it gets into the hands of these clowns
