Knowing myself as well as I do, however, I can say I will probably download it as soon as it hits the scene, spend six to twelve hours making a character that actually looks somewhat like me, then play for one and a half hours, maybe two, before leaving with the actual intent to continue later but never actually managing to find enough interest do so.
Why do I never learn is anybody's guess.

Nevermind TES but what RPGs actually do location specific damage? I'm trying to think of any and the only things coming to mind are Fallout(s) and Battletech (tabletop - not an RPG and I'm not sure whether any electronic versions do it).

I didn't buy, or pirate Arkania.
I didn't buy, or pirate Two Worlds 2.
I didn't buy, or pirate DA2.
Nowadays I only have so much "gaming time" in a week, and I refuse to waste it (and money) with shit.
From the looks of it, I won't buy, or pirate Skyrim.
Patiently waiting for TW2, and maybe Deus Ex HR.
SkepticsClaw said:Much as I do love and find amusing (and even largely correct) the Oblivion and Bethesda bashing, I'm still certainly going to be buying Skyrim. The fact is that, perverse and wrong though it undoubtedly is, I enjoyed the hell out of Oblivion in all of its awkward brokenness. I'm not sure I can really justify it (apart from the sound and music is beautiful and I am an audiophile), but the fact remains I enjoyed it somewhat more than the vast majority of other people's modern 3d game attempts. Fuck, I even enjoyed that stupid conversation wheel minigame thing.
I suppose the point about 'immersion' is relevant - for whatever nebulous reason, Oblivion succeeded despite the large amount of time I was wandering around thinking about how much of it was annoying / shit / pointless. Why? I don't really know. I'm going to put it down to some pre-rational instinct, some combination of the feel and experience of the game gelling with the correct parts of my psyche.
So yes, will buy Skyrim.
Well, you asked for it with the "six to twelve hours making a character that actually looks somewhat like me" joke. At least you won't play it just to start a thread a.s.a.p on the Codex saying how shitty it is. Ah, the glory...Black Cat said:So it has come to this point where even the Kuroneko has become a LARPer, eh? Dark days, indeed.
Volourn said:Maybe at $5 when nobody cares about its sales anymore. I haven't bought S;RPG or FO:NV and I actually like those companies.
