and you fucks are all shitposting hypocrites if you pay money for this shit and still complain about the decline

Bethesda may labotomise their franchises, but they don't abuse them as much other publishers abuse theirs.

It also has to be embarrassing for other publishers to claim that nobody wants single player games while games like GTA V and Skyrim fly off the shelves.

I guess they don't abuse, just reuse. I wonder when Bethesda will make a new open-world RPG that isn't Fallout or Elder Scrolls. Is such a thing possible?

They don't have the creativity to create a new universe.
That's my worry. I really want them to create a new IP, or at least make a game off a different existing one that isn't ES/FO, but so far they haven't showed themselves capable or willing to do something like that.

they could always buy up the rights to planescape and make an official PST sequel

i've always dreamt of someday being the leader of the Carceri fighter, thieves and mage guild simultaneously

I've bought all the Fallout games, enjoyed them all, so yeah I'll buy Fallout 4. Despite the weakest of all the Fallout games was Fallout 3 by Bethesda. This is their last chance, though. If they screw this up, they'll join Bioware on the 'tardlist.

Actually, they are already #1 on the 'tardlist, I think since oblivion.

Perhaps DAI is just fresher in my mind than anything Bethesda made, but of course they both belong in that list.
:shunthenonbeliever:you, you have played DAI? How dare you wear the cape of infamy with such insolence? I have no words to describe my indignation.

Was it any fun riding the bull? :troll:

Not only did I play DAI (much to my regret) for at least some *hours* before giving up on it, I even tried to reason with Biotards on the official Bioware forums. I am permanently scarred after that attempt.

I fell for the lies, the "made for PC gamers by PC gamers", the "back to the roots" the "we've learned from DA2" ... Laidlaw and Gaider, may their names be forgotten.

This seems to be anther Layer 8 situation.

"The tactical camera and pause and play is just what you would expect from Origins, you'll be super super pleased with it", is what she said. Not "that it felt like Origins" or that it "was like Origins". Just what "you'd expect from Origins".

What you "expect" is certainly a Layer 8, if you parse the language like an autistic person. But we wouldn't do that, would we?

Hey, maybe that's who they were marketing to, after reading the Biotard forums, that seems exactly the target audience. 400 hours played, 8 playthroughs, that's not uncommon from Biotard fans on their forums for DAI.

The only thing that feels like Origins to me is the 2H Warrior swing speed. Literally... it's just that insignificant.

But tbh, I think the DAI warriors are better actually. They require more defense moves and attention than both DAO and DA2. Just that the design decisions (or lack thereof) surrounding it still sucks.

If rogues are still better at combat than fighters, then you don't need fighters at all.

Technically, you can use whatever group you want on most difficulties. Game is pretty easy. That said, yeah they're the highest dps as usual, but the AI sucks. So perhaps they're better as a player controlled character. Main job seems to be picking off stragglers, positioning for backstabs and such. Gotta be more careful with bosses. AOEs kill them quick.

The 2h warrior is also dps, but doesn't have to think about any of this as much. That's their main advantage.

Codex 2013 Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Strap Yourselves In
I just realised that I managed to resist the lure of a shiny new 'RPG' by not buying DA:I. Admittedly, with EA :argh: pulling the strings it was not as hard as it would have been a decade ago, but I means I am free. I resisted once and can do so again. So I've changed my vote (sorry OP) and am going to damned well play Wizardry 6 (for definite this time) as a reward.

:obviously:

Although if there was ever a Linux version I might succumb to weakness, like offering an alcoholic a drink. Fortunately that'll never happen.

Edit: Yes, I confused Bethesda and Bioware. I truly am free.

I don't think it's enabling the decline to buy a single player game that's not a yearly franchise.

Imagining EA squirming when their newest online-only game tanks whilst single-player Fallout 4 flies off the shelves is quite satisfying.

EA still has yet to even remotely get the sales a single Bethesda RPG game makes, from one of EA's RPG's... :M
