In the unlike case people whose taste I trust on the Codex will find the gameplay very good and the degeneracy and writing only moderately horrible I might play it in a couple of years when it's cheap. I probably need a better rig to run it anyway.

More simply, none of the characters look particularly appealing, nothing seems to indicate good writing, and i had plenty of good D&D-like content recently (Solasta, Pathfinder) that i don't feel the need to try just for that.

I thought the same way you do but after the game got so popular I thought fuck it and gave it a try.

I was shocked at first, randomly generated appearances all look gay with make up and pink hair. And you don’t have a gender selection, only body type.

Furthermore you can customize your penis shape or give your clearly male character a vagina.

Anyway, once you do start the game it is surprisingly good. No woke characters and actually good writing. It’s the best modern RPG we have seen so far. A big improvement on DOS2.

Take that from a guy who still couldn’t finish DOS2 because I constantly get triggered by the pozzedness. Not so in BG3, they made sure to not fuck the setting up and I respect them for that.

I did not want to play it because I'm cautious of anything that becomes extremely mainstream, even my friends who have never touched a turn based game are playing it so I instantly assumed the game is as deep as a puddle and the dialogue is probably Marvel-tier, but I'm very curious still and I'll probably play it for free in 2 years or so.
