Look at it this way. Due to this being the project on the side Pillars of Eternity has all of Obsidian's crpg specialized devs working on it.

I was previously wondering about that myself, now it makes sense.

Ehhhhhhhhhh, arguably.

Remember this is the work they took after losing 1/3 of their personel. Their next publisher project will be the judge.
That was MMO the first. This is MMO the second.

No, actually other way around. This was the Rich Taylor Project that immediatly started after the cancellation and layoffs and was signed december 12. This was the project they took to survive.

Skyforge was probably: Hey you guys do RPG's well. Wanna help out? It's the same publisher after all.

Well it seems extremely unlikely to me that a publisher would trust Obsidian with the budget they'd need to remain competitive on the ps4 and xboxone platforms, unless Bethesda throws them another Fallout stand-alone xpac bone.

Yeah, if South Park hadn't been a success I would have given them a very, very low chance apart from Kickstarter/self-funded.

Armoured Warfare, a new RPG from Obsidian, lead your company of tanks in victory against evil general Avellone. Know your heroes well, meet the tough T-72, he is a dark brooding veteran russian hero that suffer from the trauma of other campaigns and has a dark past, Leopard 2 meet the German efficiency, he likes everything on time and is a professional he has a rivalry with the T-72 they fought over AMX-56, a french tank lady that died and they blame each other. M1A1 Abrams is the american cowboy of the group that thinks that is better than everybody else.

Manage the rivalries between your tanks, listen to their personal stories, hardships and learn about their past in this RPG by Obsidian. Pre order now this game that shows the legendary Obsidian writing skills on a epic story never seen before.

What can change the nature of a tank?

Didn't they say that the second Kickstarter project was supposed to be announced early this year? I guess everyone assumed that the GDC announcement is going to be that, but seeing as their first crowdfunded game isn't going to be done on time it stands to reason that they'll delay a second project a bit. Tank MMO, wow

In a way it does make sense, but why anyone would pick Obsidian to make a tank MMO I can't say. Whatever, carry on with the butthurt.

Pillars of Eternity was already "delayed" to Winter 2014 before Feargus revealed the existence of a second Kickstarter project, so that's not a factor. He said they'd have something ready by March or April, so it's not too late.

Maybe the US will go to war with Russia over the whole Crimea thing, or at least trade will stop between the two, and it will become impossible to make this game.

It could happen. Right?

Published by Paradox. Coincidence ?

:troll:

Next thing - Mobamole game "Alliance of Legends". Try it, it's free!

At least when the game will flop the only thing remaining will be a text on wikipedia. And funny videos with glitches from the game.

:negative:

Shame. Girls und Panzer RPG could have been a blockbuster.

MCA Project: Eternity
What I don't understand is why a Russian publisher would want to pay big bucks for a bunch of guys in California who've never done anything like this before, instead of hiring in the motherland.

because they want to invade the new world. no american gives a fuck about a wot clone developed by russian hinterwäldlern, and obsidian is at least well known - we're talkin about a f2p game where lots of people will only try it out because of this. a percentage of those will keep playing it and a fraction will even pay. obsidian is one the few remaining independent american developers desperately searching for comissioned work after microsoft cancelled their next gen project.

I tolerated Dungeon Siege III, I accepted the South Park RPG. Now they're really pushing my faith in their non Kickstarter projects...

Someone, somewhere, has an infallible plan to make millions. This seems like bizarre nonsense to us, but one day that genius will show us all.
