There is a huge bug in survival mode.
After playing the game for quite a while, I quit ofc using the main menu because the text tells you that in survival mode the game saves when exiting to the menu (even though you still get a msg "If you exit now unsaved data will be lost, really exit?" so probably this msg should be after an *If game mode = survival, dont show this msgbox* kinda code block) So I still quit to main menu because idk how else to save. The game seemed to save fine after playing it again the next day. However i noticed something: almost all areas I already visited were marked with ? as if i have not discovered them yet, and surely the game actually kinda reset. When I get to outskirts again, the game played the into sequence again and my char was again waking up from bed in all his current gear lol, in the closet was a brand new copy of newb gear like key, sks, and the tutorial started again. But the quests seem to be okay at least some? For instance there was no owner but his wife was there cuz I had that quest. Also the time teleported back to like 0AM 12/3 or what the start date is i think. However i think the police join quest got bugged, i did all 3 quests and theres no way to progress it seems talking to the commander gives no new options? Also it was just super weird basically talking to people as if you have not talked to them before but then you could still finish the quest because the log still had the previous quests.
Seems like a serious save bug related to survival mode. Daily reminder why ironman mode sucks usually because of these technical issues, but oh well you play with fire you get burnt.
For any to-be players I suggest waiting a bit more before doing a playthrough guys, however the game is deffo very worth it as was the previous one.
Chatted with the QA guys, they state that this issue still happens in ATOM RPG, despite no known bug being connected to it. It has long since been theorized that this is the fault of something else on the user's PC that messes with the process of changing the values inside a save file. The only few times we could replicate this issue in-house was when we purposefully ran the game alongside outdated antiviruses such as AVG, Mcaffee etc they botched save writing as it commenced but did not issue reports because "understood" that it's not in fact a virus seconds later, but the damage was already done. So you have those?

Huh, very interesting... Makes me want to go reverse engineer it and find the bug then blackmail you guys to employ me hehe. Thinking out loud it kinda seems theres some sorta discontinuity with the way the game is coded with regards to time and states of quests or something. I dont think its the users PCs fault also I dont have any antivirus. I shall try to reproduce it.

Edit: what the heck the game deleted my previous save when I started a new game, oh well

Yes and no. Yes the thing the guy is selling is a skin that changes the looks of the thing. That item doesn't even have a stealth value!
But... why? Its description is highly misleading then. Questionable in-game price, to say the least, too.
But stealth itself plays the following roles in random encounters:
- How far is the farthest and how close is the closest you can possibly spawn from the enemies;
- Inner enemy leader type (more than a few skills have minor influence on this; e.g. if your melee is high there is a bigger chance a shield guy spawns inside enemy group, if your stealth is high there is a bigger chance a melee fighter or a long range shooter spawns in the group).
- Who gets to move first if encounter starts in combat.
Just as it was in the OG then? Not sure about the leader thing though. Anyway, my point being perhaps PA's sneak penalty is bugged because I'm spawning far away from enemies all the time while having 1 in sneak.

Sadly I'm currently broke from purchasing Al-Qadim: The Genie's Curse. I'm also patiently waiting on next patch for Colony Ship - that's where all my time goes into nowadays. However, I'll keep this game under my eye for the future. Thanks!

Eh, we don't regret it. Just like sacrificing game length for graphical, gameplay and writing improvements with Trudograd it wasn't commercially viable at all, but dude, standing our ground in the middle of an RPG storm of epic proportions, shoulder to shoulder with huge projects from big studios and large publishers & marketing campaigns, yet managing to at least keep our tiny niche and get some new players gave us morale and determination money couldn't buy. Money is terribly important, but so is this. It's a balancing act. And next time we'll prolly balance to the side of maximizing revenue, but this time all went well enough!
This is why you, along with ITS, are the studios whose output I look forward to the most.

Seems to be gaining players rather than losing them, looks like it might just be a slow burner in terms of sales.
500 concurrent players on release, 800 day after, 1000 yesterday.

Right, I powered through Atom once again in order to have a save to export, no way I'm playing without my character shouting one-liners in combat. Still a terrific game, more so for the side content than the main quest. Whoever wrote Hexogen didn't get paid enough.
Now on to the sequel!

It's not my place to theorize because they can't teach me to understand even basic coding, but I think it's a unity thing. Something in Unity pisses something off in antivirus or firewall software. But if you're saying you don't have this, it might be something new even. I'll tell everyone who's free today to run in ironman. I'm really sorry for the loss of save. It really sucks. I can't ask you this but if you're really willing to spend time looking for this and find something could u pls write to support@atomrpg.com? Or here, I mean anything goes, just don't PM me because I don't get PMs sometimes and that's not something I wanna miss!!!

I have no idea why tbh, I stay as far away as I can from economy, it scares me. Might be because there's another skin that's free bcs it just lies around in a dungeon ripe for the taking. Or because it's made out of precious stones. I'll take a look at the description soon, TBH I had no idea this thing had no stealth value when I wrote the description lol, sign of quality right there. We'll take a look at why you're spawning far away. You shouldn't unless your enemies are usually snipers. If the game picks long range sharpshooters as a RE enemy, you spawn far away from them because they use the Tau strategy.

Thank you! I look forward to ITS projects as well. I'll even look at one today, for upto three hours. Because it will be the only thing on my screen!!!

1000+ really surprised me. We are pretty blessed. And on a workday, too. Crazy. I really hope this will last for awhile.

Now on to the sequel!
My blood froze as I read this, because I can't remember if we ported the one-liner thing correctly. It works, right? I'll check later. If not, a fix is already on its way!
And thank you! :)

I can't find my saves and I'm not willing to redownload the game to find out.
We have cloud. Can you pleeease describe the issue more here or better yet by writing to support@atomrpg.com ? That way you'll get straight to the cloud prog. You logged in properly? You didn't have mods? You checked other "pages" for saves? Sometimes depending on the slot you used in Atom the save sits in like the 5th page of the menu instead of the first, nasty little mishap we're fixing atm. We'll try to help out!

I approve!
It feels very cozy.

I wasn't having any issues. I couldn't find my saves locally(in my PC) and didn't want to reinstall the first game just to find out if there was cloud save.

I ended up installing it anyway and found that there was cloud saving and they were there. I'll start the expansion soon.

Thanks for the response anyway.
