Surely the cloud save system for ATOM should have been called "Mushroom Cloud".

So anyway, hey everyone!
We're almost done with the next update, there's gonna be plenty of QoL stuff, a new dungeon, some new characters and such hitting Trudograd next month. I just finished translating the main bulk of it, so now we'll need to localize it, put everything into the game and test it for a few weeks. But then!.. It's gonna be there. The stuff everyone suggested like item comparison still need some work, but maybe they'll get into the next patch as well. Also, some new reactions to your actions like suggested above might get added if there's time, but that won't be the last patch anyhow, so there's still as much time as we want.
There's also something really cool happening to our ratings. I really don't want to jinx it, but I also want to show it off while it's still there.

I won't even waste too many words describing how happy and appreciative we are for this, because it's pretty hard to describe. Just wow! Crazy! It will go down someday of course, but damn, the fact it for once reached such a number is mind boggling.
Also I spent this weekend replaying System Shock 2, and I got reverse nostalgia glasses for it. It turned out, I loved it more this time, than I ever did the first time I played it back in my school days. I lived that game for two days and I enjoyed every second of it, while previously I found some areas and quests irritating. Now I really want to make a System Shock themed dungeon for a future Trudograd patch, even though I know I'll fail at it.
Well that's all from me now.
More info soon!

Can you spoil what is in reality this star?
According to a rumor I just heard, from Lidiya Nechayeva, all the sparrows in the port disappeared. Could it be because the Chinese moved in?Imagine talking to 100 chinese NPC. No thanks.
Not yet he ain't! Will he though? I dunno! But we remember him.do the paper journalist show up in trugrodad? the one in kraznovzanamenny that ask for 500 paper and if they have special dialogue if you managed to collect that much
A guy we know knew a guy, and we loved the idea, so it happened. A lightning in a bottle situation! Finally started trudograd. That opening live action clip was cool as fuck Atomboy whose idea was it to use LA? It was very well done too.
There sure is! We have shaders now! Thanks! It was a year ago so I don't remember how ATOM looked but would you say that there's a graphical difference between it and Trudograd? I'm still playing Trudograd and to me it looks absolutely stunning. Finally started trudograd..
Not early on...!Can you join the northerners early on, help them invade Trudograd, and get the railgun that way?
Team Beet IRL here, I abhor turnips, but it's only fair to give them some spotlight as well.so are you guys in the beet team or turnip team? i am personally a beet person like the people in central wastes
Thank you! The reception of combat is a very difficult thing in Trudograd. Would you believe we got as much Combat is too Easy remarks, as we did Combat is Too Difficult ones? The balance tweaks went on and on, even the latest patch got a fair few, but I'm pretty sure there will never be a better solution to this, apart from literally changing the game's difficulty until it becomes just right. For me it's Hard if I start from a save, or Normal if I start from scratch. I hope we will be capable to conceive a system for the next game which will be easier to balance. Trudograd had too many bells and whistles for its own creators to manage sometimesThank you ATOM Team for another great game! I just finished my first run, which took me 40hours according to Steam, and I loved every bit of it.
As a story fag this is my type of RPG however there were so few fights in this that I was actually longing for combat. The random encounters were very easy and of the few fights I had to do to advance the story only two were actually challenging. Not even the end fight made me sweat. The game was superb but the fights need to be made more difficult. Lore wise it's good that the random encounters are low level scum with bad equipment however if they could charge you from different directions and even overwhelm you then that could mitigate the situation somewhat. However all the battles that involves the Northerners assault on the city could be made much more difficult.
Compared to the first game, which I loved, Trudograd is like BG2 to BG1. Seeing this I'm really looking forward to your next game!
I will replay this immediately and do the revolutionary path instead of the police path. It would be cool if you could help the northerners already from the beginning though.
That's just lovely! I wanted to take the path of the Prostitute somewhat further than it is in the finished game, pimping yourself to much more people and such, but we ruled in favor of moderation both in this regard and in humor, references, etc. Gain more appeal by losing some of the crazy. Expanded prostitution would sadly attract people who would see some cool new political problem in it, etc, so we kept it a bit tame.Atomboy here's an idea for a new path when you play as a female character. It will open some new possibilities for women of the right attributes to make some extra money.
When you first meet Dandelion the Pimp he says that he doesn't want to hire you as a prostitute as you are "not much like my... other workers". Currently there's no way to disapprove him. As you know you can then go and meet Julian the Horny at the hotel bar and if you pick the right choices sell sex to him for 100Rubles. However after you have sold sex for the first time you can't, as of now, do anything with that experience.
Here's my suggestion. After you have sold sex to Julian the Horny you should get a special distinction called "Working Hoe". When you have that you should be able to convince Dandelion the Pimp that you should start working for him. This will open up a row of new possibilities for female characters.
1) You should now get random encounters on the world map that allows you to sell sex to strangers. In that way you can make some quick bucks.
2) There's a brothel in the Grey Corner as well as at the Docks. If you yourself is a prostitute you should have additional dialogue lines there.
3) Add a special hooker quest line involving the other brothels. Maybe they fight over customers?
4) If you yourself is a prostitute then you should get a special way to resolve the quest "Not-Really-A Child's Play" involving Ignat Turukhanov. Maybe inspired by Pretty Woman?
5) You should also be able to blackmail some high-ranking officials who have slept with you for money. Maybe there's a quest to set one of them up?
Here are some screenshots showing what's currently in the game and what you can build upon:

To summarise: we want a prostitute mini-DLC! What do you think?
Well all of them are crafted, so yes in both regards!Does the Firearms Academy ability work with ALL crossbows or just crafted ones? Or are all Crossbows crafted so it doesn't matter?
This one got sooo many complaints and I almost reversed it for so many times, my hand hovering above the delete button for many a night. I'm glad someone enjoyed it!playing as permanent drug addict was fun. the druggie doctor perk from ATOM was nerfed so your addiction can't be cured. now i always keep a dozen of kasparamid on me before it's mostly just sell dumpster/
Hi! Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Though I always had the feeling some would feel in Trudograd the exact way I felt in BG2 (which I dropped for ten times before finally learning to play and enjoy it) this was just necessary, to show off our ability to do new things to the setting! Same for vignettes. Some can be replaced by gameplay, and some even did, for example the fishman encounter and some of the final dungeon stuff, because we just didn't have the time, but the urge to do them in order to show off that we can (and also to pay homage to Space Rangers, the best game) overpowered everything. Difficulty issues are a lesson learned. Hopefully the new dungeons will be hard enough if you ever try them!Finished this game today. While it's a decline compared to Atom RPG, it's still better than 99% of available games.
Improvements compared to Atom RPG:
-Graphics
-Music
-Plot is more down-to-earth. That mushroom part of Atom RPG plot was retarted.
Decline:
-Overwhelming pacing, the same problem that Baldur's Gate 2 had. From the very beginning you are thrown into a big city, you are surrounded by NPCs that have something to say and want you to do something for them. When you try to complete one quest, you get three other quests in the meantime and soon you forget what you were supposed to do and have to rely on your journal too much. I prefer when quests are separated by distance like in Fallout or Atom RPG where you can complete a bunch of quests in one location, see all that this location has to offer then and go explore a different location.
-As the game is focused on a single city, it lacks the feeling of being on a journey.
-It feels too easy (I played on Expert). I imported my character from Atom RPG which had lvl 21 (and I didn't grind, this is the lvl I always end up with when I complete the original game), but I feel like this game was intended for a lower lvl character (if you create one you start at lvl 15, but as this game picks up where the original story ended, I would rather keep my progress).
-Follows the trend of replacing gameplay with interactive slides. Look at the example below. This could have been implemented as a gameplay with existing mechanics. Putting the scarf on would require equiping an item. The comments expressed by companions during the walk would be represented as text floating above their heads. Choosing the path would involve just walking the right direction. The dog interaction would be a sealth check. If your stealth was too low, the dog would approach you and you would either have to calm it down through regular dialogue window or kill it in a normal turn-based combat. I know, there are actual encounters in this game that would be difficult or impossible to implement with existing gameplay mechanics, but most of the time those minigames felt like lack of effort.

They are! Every version since the release is compatible.Any idea if saves will be compatible with the updates? How was it handled when the Dead City update came out? I'm itching to try Trudograd already.
I'd go for Siberia as well if we were making Atom 2, it has great biomes. Though I wouldn't vote for making it China-heavy, that's why some lines concerning the Conglomerate place it more in some Pacific island environment and not exactly mainland China just in case we decide to make it the next big target, which is still up for debate.i think if there's gonna be ATOM 2 we're going to china since The conglomerate is to be implied to be the next big bad. it'd be pretty cool IMO, or at least maybe the steppe with some cities bordering siberia and china, far east at least. especially if you did the quest in the grey quarter after the factory main questthe conglomerate agent ask you to steal a filter, which is actually not a filter but mass mind control device similar to what the mycelium gonna use because it use the 1CC decoder or whatever it's called
Thank you! You might be on to something with the Hesperus star, though it is not yet fully decided :D Seventh Heaven was more of a on the spot logic decision than a fault of time constraints. We actually made it pretty early into development, then thought "why would the rich stick around, despite knowing what's about to go down?" so we made it empty on purpose. This got some criticism, so we gradually livened it up a bit, and will do a little more in the next update too, but not a lot. They really have no reason to stick around.finally finished the game. i think it's kinda balanced ny there's some stuff in atom i like better than trudograd, and vice versa. i do agree the seventh heaven is the biggest disappointment. i'd take some smaller areas to be cut like the razdov (whatever the spelling is) village and merge some of the content to outskirts, so we can get proper bourgeoisie experience (like in the loading screen where rich people just stroll around in a place that looks like luxury shopping mall and tons of crazy rich persons).
overall it's such a great game, even though playing it back to back after ATOM made me tired in the end.

The patch is out! It's pretty good! Though I dunno how I would compare it to the original Atom. Both have their pros and cons.Wasnt there supposed to drop a big fucking patch today? with new shit and stuff?
Might even buy this.
is it good? better than atom1
Thank you for sharing the post! It's here! And there's a ModKit in the pipeline!
ATOM Team said:Update 1.04
Greetings, friends!
We are glad to announce that v.1.04 content update has finally been completed.
In this version, we paid the utmost attention to the quality of life updates we decided upon in earlier community posts.

Now you can finally use your own picture files to create portraits for your character, and even customize their appearance in-game.

Also Trudograd now supports the ATOM Cloud save transfer system, using which you can not only save progress between different versions of the game on different devices, but also transfer a character from the original ATOM RPG to Trudograd, using our cloud server instead of an actual save file.

Based on your suggestions, we introduced the mechanic of comparing equipment, expanded the set of icons for aimed shots, and of course added several new characters, quests and locations to the game.

Can you tell us more about the ATOM Cloud account and how that works?
We fixed that!Yeah, I had to send in one of my save files to support as my character is a police ally but the police commander kept telling me that I was allied to the troublemakers, even though I wiped out the commies in the tavern.
There's really not a lot to spoil, because we, the two writers for the game, haven't decided yet. When I first wrote it into the first game, I pictured it as a meteor you will railgun from the sky in ATOM 3, in a cinematic set to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbxgYlcNxE8 but then I started seeing it as something more esoteric, like a UFO or an evangelion angel which you will railgun from the sky in a cinematic set to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QagKHgZ2iqg , and when we decided to let me implement the whole Bronzovka plot layer, this wish for making the star something more complex grew even further, but I think my comrade has more grounded plans for it. No matter what we choose though, if we ever make an ATOM sequel, it will be destructible via railgun as to not make the whole of Trudograd redundant. I'd say it's equal parts a comet, an asteroid, a UFO, a rogue AI satellite, an esoteric being, etc. We will know for sure in a few years maybe. So anyway, hey everyone!

This one was 99% done since the release in September. Only minor additions since and just a few tiny ones to look out for in the next patch. So it's done! This in a good state? I remember ATOM was pretty rough for the first several months, and didn't really get "finished" until like a year+ after release.
You too, huh. Well, I sure hope your next game won't have pronouns or turnip gender or some shit otherwise at least one resident here will lose his marblesExpanded prostitution would sadly attract people who would see some cool new political problem in it, etc, so we kept it a bit tame.
No no no no. Traits that change gameplay even a little are the best but this one in particular is currently one of the best overall. It's an awesome trade-off but most players still won't go for it while "min-maxers" would've if there wouldn't be even more op options on the table and the game's difficulty would require it.This one got sooo many complaints and I almost reversed it for so many times, my hand hovering above the delete button for many a night. Gotcha. We will know for sure in a few years maybe.
It's a role playing game, the best outcome is the one where your character stays in character...What's the best resolution to the Smoke and Mirrors quest with the magician at the Trudograd outskirts?

Why does eating cheese lower your personality when the cheese merchant in D:OS had so much personality?
It is because of the foul odour you emit! Cheese breath, you know! Why does eating cheese lower your personality when the cheese merchant in D:OS had so much personality?
My crippling fear of all this modern Western cultural combat stuff comes from not understanding its mechanics. One cannot pander to something one does not fully comprehend, so no worries there! You too, huh. It's whatever, the checks only bring out extra dialogue. You won't learn what Infant Regalia is either way. What's the best resolution to the Smoke and Mirrors quest with the magician at the Trudograd outskirts?
Thank you! Though keep in mind, at least ~10 references in the game were not made on purpose and without any knowledge of the source material. So its even more boringer than it seems! We also fixed the bug you described in the same day when you posted, I just didn't have time to respond on here. We will patch it in in a day in case we haven't yet. Which I believe we did.Finished Trudograd. Replayed ATOM just before it so my impressions are pretty fresh.
I've finished both as a complete pacifist (never attacked anyone or anything, companions never killed anyone or anything, NPCs I can't control didn't count), so I can't talk about combat and difficulty.
Trudograd is definitely an improvement over ATOM and for this price is absolutely a great deal (clocked over 45 hours).
Good:
Could be better:
- Traits and perk system. Some of the ATOM traits were pretty bland (Cannibal for example). Traits in Trudograd are way more varied. Perk tree was reworked into a much better perk circle. ATOM perks had a lot of boring perks "+% to something". These are still present, but the're also some new cool ones.
- Writing. ATOM felt uneven at times. Trudograd is much smoother. Humor also doesn't rely so much on references (they're still present).
- Graphics and art design. ATOM was okay, unless you zoomed in. Trudograd looks great, especially at night. New portraits, creatures and items fit nicely.
- Quest design. ATOM had a few fetch quests and "go there and kill the random encounters". There's 1 fetch quest in Trudograd, other quests have multiple stages and/ or objectives.
Bug:
- Factions. You can skip them for 100k, but in order to progress you have to join and complete a few missions for one of them. As a cop I got a single side mission (killing smugglers) that I had to decline. Would be great if they got fleshed out some more with extra side quests.
- I encountered only one major bug (or maybe an oversight by devs). After declining to kill the smugglers I met a character that ordered an item from them, but couldn't collect it since they were all killed. I accepted and went to the warehouse. All smugglers were still present and I couldn't complete it.
Are you sure? Some objects do have transparency, I never had trouble with it nor ever got any criticism about it. Do you rotate the camera and home in on the character? Stuff like building tops disappear on approach now. Shoud work smoothly!I really appreciate all teh work guys but non-transparent foreground, again? Game is still unplayable in isometric mode.
Thank you! Glad you liked it! English is much better in this one too, and Russian, though I miss writing the way I did for the first game, is 100% more appealing now, totally agree!I made this account a long time ago and never really had a reason to post anything, but I just want to say, Atomboy, this is my favorite game this year by far. It wouldn't hit this hard if I wasn't russian most likely, but the way things are, the atmosphere is just perfect for me. I also think the writing is considerably better than Atom RPG, which I found a bit too goofy at times.
Protag gets obscured by everything in front of him (ecxept roofs) and you should twitch camera left and right which is more of a hassle than playing in 3d. Nevermind that, it's a minor complaint. The most important thing is that i can steal toilet paper which comes naturally after Elex. Are you sure? Some objects do have transparency, I never had trouble with it nor ever got any criticism about it. Do you rotate the camera and home in on the character? Stuff like building tops disappear on approach now. Shoud work smoothly!
Does anyone know where you can reliably find a bandana to upgrade your stuff?
And by bandana I mean the white, plain one. Not the camo one, or the polka dot one.
These are some cool suggestions, I think the UI guy is already working on advanced filters and I'll be sure to send over the other stuff. Thank you!
