Just watching those NPCs makes me think you will find less faggotry even at pride parades...

wow, how odd, the biggest shills are suddenly all about "not buying games on release".

There is nothing "suddenly" about me. I'm sticking to the same habits I've had for decades.

Heard a line that apparently NPCs don't move at all. They just stand in place, making it feel like a dead world. I don't mind this in general, but as a third-person game, an open-worldish kind of game, it feels pretty lame.
This is one thing I just cannot stand in games anymore. It was fine in Morrowind but that was 20 fucking years ago, and here we are doing the same old shit
Stick to Bethesda games, because NPC schedules have never been important to the Black Isle/Bioware/Troika/Obsidian school of design. They focus on narrative, not "living" worlds.

Doesn't help that this piece of turd is 70 GB too.
It's frankly hilarious that this costs 70 euros lol
I meant Gigabytes. It's a 70 GB download.
75 GB, and 90 Euro for early access.

But frankly for employed people from middle class and above, this is easy to pay fee. I expect games to rise to 120 Euro prices within 5 years. (Remember salaries in game development grew significantly when you look at salaries in normal AA companies and calculate salaries as fy 2000 USD. Young people who grew up in cellphone culture don't want to work for peanuts even if they have skills of monkeys.)

If you guys want the pure Colombian uncut stuff, go to the Avoid subreddit.

https://www.reddit.com/r/avowed/new/

They are in full cope mode with all the reviewers shitting on it.
Jfc, these have to be the same insufferable manchildren that died on the hill defending Veilguard.

Can anyone tell me what's the point in spending so much energy in shilling for a fucking videogame of all things?

This is game is like a schoolbook on how not to do an RPG. Did Tim Cain make that video on the subject on purpose? I already know he has it for Patel.

They've gutted any RPG system they've supposedly implemented, combined it with atrocious graphics and animations, inauthentic VO.

Exactly what I called "the Patel Nine-to-Five school of RPG design".

maybe back in the good old days they focused on narrative.
Patel can't do narratives in an RPG either. Any interactivity gets her a brain aneurism and she needs to lie down. Lucky for her, even she can't be fired from Microsoft.

The don't focus on anything other than story. The art department is kind of a joke and they don't focus on making a game great there. Instead the keep saying that story is everything and really everything should be important. I feel like they are so behind on tech, art and real game-play that they are doomed to fail.
- Don't use the excuse that design is king when even the design is mediocre.

They focus very much on narrative, it's just not the kind of narrative that would appeal to you.

The graphics aren't good.

The art style is quite frankly, probably downright offensive to a lot of people.

Imagine being the art director for this. Speaking of which, where did he go? Did Feargus black bag him?
I believe his dream was to get replaced by his wifes black boyfriend so he could live in the woods or something.

Hi.

Gosh it has arrived and it clearly shows on the Steam top games chart as Avowed has moved up to #3 in the ranking after many early on thought it was already down and out for the count but your continued support has shown many a detractor that Eora is alive and well with the Pillars of Eternity community. I took a moment to put together all of the Avowed Achievements you will be able to unlock during your adventure in The Living Lands so feel free to use this on the home page Infinitron in your mention of the release but you should also consider putting reviews in order based on their numerical scores rather than their alphabetical outlet names for the next game because numbers are easier to sort through with a glance but I too thought this was a job you got paid to do on the Codex but low and behold to my surprise you do this after your day job that is dedication to the community so thank-you okay? Okay! :salute:

Due to the large number of achievements you will be able to unlock and the length of the image I have put it in a handy spoiler tag (and to also not spoil many of you who are embarking on your first adventure).

Thanks,
Sherry

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Obsidian, like many others, has long been just a brand that no longer represents anything of the collective imagination of what it once was (and certainly no longer is). Not that it was needed, but I think this latest abomination seals the deal on this concept that should now be evident to anyone. As far as I'm concerned, these "games" (which are actually political manifestos, not even very disguised) don't even exist, and I wouldn't get near them even if I were paid to do so, let alone having to waste ridiculous sums like the ones they ask for.

Artistic direction? LOL.

I am curious to see how Avowed stacks up in the tedious looting department. Can it compete with Baldurs Gate 3?

Irrelevant and anti-Codexian

Avowed-FLT if anyone wants to waste a couple of gigabyte.
That will cost you just a little more to get a Game Pass key than paying for a VPN and safely pirating it. Plus, you never know what kind of shit they could repackage in those.
Nobody has ever gotten a cease and desist over vidya piracy and neither has anyone gotten a VIRUS or a BTC miner from reliable torrents.
Some definitely got one after torrented videos, and even if it doesn’t, it’s not worth taking any risks or dealing with slow torrent speeds when you can get it legally and even preload it for just a few euros.

They must be seriously delusional if they think this is worth 70 Euro. They have to pay me to play it and even then I'd have to consider it.

Saw a review detailing one of the companion quests for the fish guy in which you help him realize he’s a gay fish or something along those lines. Didn’t Outer Worlds have a similar quest?

Outer Worlds had an asexual lesbian and her quest is the player setting up a date with a girl she likes or something

Reminder that this is a gamepass fodder game. Setting retarded pricing is part of the plan where they win both when it works (and you go use their live service) and when it doesn't (you're actually dumb enough to buy it).

As per usual, the winning move is to not play.

Lot of the reviews say the combat is fun with good gear variety but the rpg progression is relatively light. Anyone have more details on how level up progression mechanics work?

They have a very specific target audience.
