Why do the character models look so crappy? They seem like they're filtered through some shitty filter and they also have an annoying black contour like they didn't know how to properly crop the models or something. Is this the same in all EE versions?

You can deactivate the black lines but the resolution is blurry as fuck. I haven't found a way to change the resolution to your liking. You can only zoom in which causes the blurriness or play with your desktop resolution (obviously tiny men on the screen then).

I really hope I'm missing something here or it's ridiculess.

The hell is up with the black borderline around everything? Makes it look like a low tier voxel characer, or those bad nintendo DS games.

So you cannot pick a resolution to play in? Like the Widescreen mod let you do 10 years ago?

Why is it there? Why is it needed? Why do parents allow maybe their only child to be a weirdo? And how come they haven't taken her/him/it to a priest? Maybe the child is possessed?
Or maybe she was allways she and her parents just lunatics, who wanted son and raised her as one.

Seems like this. No option in the menu and writing it in the baldur.lua like I found in some old threads doesn't work. If that's not changeable it's a no go for me.

So for those who have been playing... how (bad) is the UI change? Did it grow on you? I'm kinda on the fence until they give me the possibility to play with the 'classic' UI and/or they port SoD to the original Infinity Engine

Can't say the ui as such is bad. In parts it's better, in other parts you just have to get used to it because it's slightly different. Overall I don't think there's something to moan about.

It isn't terrible, it just needs more polishing. But it is apparently very moddable now, so i'd expect a classic UI mod pretty soon.

What the fuck are you people talking about, the game doesn't look blurry at all.

Any new impressions on the gameplay/content besides trannies and imagined mansplaining?

Also I love the :butthurt: over the black outlines. I personally go to the options menu first in a game.

Controversial opinion: I like the cartoony 2D look the black outlines give.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
It seems blurry if you zoom in, but the game seems ¿sharper? because I'm seeing details that I didn't remember, like Gorion's medallion (or something that looks like one) or some colors and details in people's dresses I had not noticed before. I don't know, but I think the game looks slightly better now. The UI is ok I guess, some improvements are nice, but I don't understant why they removed some classic elements, like the tooltip font & sound. The big, black outline is ugly, but I think the thinner one is great. I don't like the new spellbook and a few other things, but nothing game-breaking.

DDZ I would show you a screenshot of the blurry chars but my printkey provides only blackscreens when I tried. They seem less pixelated in your screenshot but it's still noticable. Especially when you compare it with BGs widescreen resolution mods with e.g. 1280x1024 which I still remember very well. My screen resolution is 1920x1080 which means everything is tiny or when I zoom in to something similar of 1280x1024 everything - especially the chars - is pixelated. It's just ugly. It looks like watching a game vid on youtube in 144p to give you an impression.

EDIT: After searching in some threads it seems changing resolution doesn't seem like it's supported from Beamdog since the first releases of their "Enhanced" editions which makes me guess they don't intend to fix that ever. Disappointing.

Ok, first time I will use gog's money back guarantee, then.

Holy crap aVENGER you guys really should have turned that off by default, aren't you tired of answering this question?

ghostdog It's optional.

There is a guy working at Beamdog here? Then I wonder why they insisted on breaking what was not broken. Inventory, character sheet, so on. Adding the black outlines in trailers, making it look like paper cut outs.

Or maybe she was allways she and her parents just lunatics, who wanted son and raised her as one.

She better be, as if a shitty peasant son has time to worry about gender. "Holy fuck the goblins, holy fuck the grain is bad, holy fuck not raining for 5 days now"

I also found this gem on 4chan...

If you ever needed further proof that these people don't even give a shit about the lore of the games they work on, then holy shit. Good luck defending this one, tumblrites.

So that Avenger guy could answer this maybe? Why you ignoring lore? Why are you not having this transgender just pay some mage to turn "her" into a female? Or is it more political correct to add a man who wants to be a female with the Czech words for "Femalemale" as a name from "Other languages" not even in the fucking setting.

You can keep I wondering, mums the word when it comes to their enhancements, best you gonna get is 'it's optional' for some of those features.

It is optional to live to. It is optional to eat, there is plenty of optional things in life. Those are essential things to live.

Black paper cut lines is on the other hand, a very odd optional thing that I want to know, why it was added and who the hell requested this. Is it for the 00's generation? Who need to have a pointer on everything cause they are to high on their speed and ADHD medication? They don't even buy this shit, atleast not the majority and anyone interested in old school will not ask for weird "modernizations". Old Classics are Old Classics for a reason. Thinkering with them to "modernize" like this is not helping.

Because they aren't thinking about what they are doing, duh. That's the problem of jumping on the bandwagon. One of the first items you can get in BG1 is the cursed belt that changes your gender. LGBT "issues" are "hip" nowadays and that's what most developers do - shoving everything (temporarily) popular in their games and sucking mainstream cock. That has been true for everything in the history of humanity though.

About the black lines - they are awful, I think we have enough games riding the cartoony wagon and that aesthetic became banal like 10 years ago.

Well the great wonders and creations of the world been things breaking the mainstream. Not bandwagoning it. I bet they are the same people who think Blizzard is innovative when all they do is remake the wheel with a new plating. Might be fun games but they are not the revolutionary games people think they are, atleast not anymore.

Someone need to kill the cartoony wagon as much as someone need to kill the modern military shooters with their colours of grey, brown and puke.

EDIT: Being transgender in a world of demons and angels, gods and magic left and right is really awkward. Like, buy that shitty belt off the adventurers. If you feel so entitled to tell everyone, well...then you might aswell put effort into magicall altering your gender. Beside that, maybe your VERY MUCH LIVING GOD, should be the priority, Tempus and all that and not you being a woman in a male body as one of your only characteristics.

Because that transgender would need to either have a mage friend with access to Polymorph spell or be able to pay at minimum 10x7x4= 280 gp to some willing mage which is a small forture in that world. Also it is not permanent as any kind of dispel magic, break enchantment or some magical energies fuckup would revert it.
Wish spell could make it non limited, maybe even Limited Wish but good luck finding a mage of that level willing to bother with such shit or that amount of money.
