Larianshill, what you're describing fits into the larger running problem of supernatural "inflation" that's evident in BG3 from the get-go. Larian's title is by no means a trailblazer in this regard, it's an unfortunate trend in fiction, but it
is a pretty obvious example of it - the entire adventure kicks off with Cthulhu-people, the HMS Tentacle Porn, dragon-riding aliens, a wrong turn into
literal hell, and is followed by devil-dealing and the Underdark in short order... Of course a pair of Zhentarim spies or a
dwarf aren't "special" enough for it anymore.
