A forum moderator is the lowest form of life there is. I once saw a mod give out a ban for "comparing moderators to jack-booted thugs".

I wouldn’t go that far. We’ve got some good ones here even if they’re idiots.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
I just caught up with 25 pages, and I have only 1 thing to chime in with: At the time of release the average viewer count for BG 3 on Twitch was around 120K viewers. That's NA timezones. I work pretty much all day (not blowing my own horn, just fact) - I don't know EU density on peak, but I assume as much as NA.

It now dwindled to ~120 viewers average.

Given the fact that this place is a gold mine of anything from faggotry of the old days to raging hatred, I think it's safe to assume Larian *is* reading this thread. If nothing, but for the lulz.

Also... not to ruffle any feathers, but back in the early 2000's we thought the BG saga was delightfully mediocre. Not sure since when it just jumped to "awesome RPG series" status, but I think we need to cool off a bit. Start using brains more, hearts a bit less.

IT is normal whe the game at current state lacks content. BG3 will only get a lot of views agains when Larian releases more content. Or at least allow us to reach higher level and use cooler spells. Come on, what is the point of having GOO warlocks if you can't throw tentacles on succubi? Or woman with demoniac powers like Ashyara.

And BTW, yes, I listen to RGA while play. I an doing ToEE dungeon on DDO at moment while listen to him.

-------------------------

Other thing that I wanna see on BG3 is the use of more spells on dialog. We have speak with the dead but why not Bg1/2 style dialogs when the NPC is charmed?

Did we now? Huh.

One of these days I'm going to resubscribe to the newsletter. Then I won't have embarrassing moments like forgetting how I felt about a game released 20+ years ago. Has anyone told Gromnir?

He is absolutely right. The old codex was an Arcanum // Fallout fansite with Blobber fans grafted onto it. The BG series was considered to be no better than diablo. It took quite a few years for the memetic potential of High Powered Mage Battles to rise and the Consequence for every Choice motto that was the lifeblood of the old guard to become less of an absolute. By the time of DA:O it had become possible to give a more nuanced perspective on BG1 and not be laughed out of the thread. Coincidentally the codex also went from a fansite with racists to a CIA honeypot for potential threats to American democracy in the same time period so one can only imagine all the correlations available.

I was here then and I remember it differently. There wasn't a "consensus" that Baldur's Gate was mediocre any more then than there is now. There were some people who shit-posted about it (real time with pause suxxors!) but those people were largely performing the internet asshole-peacock dance. You didn't take them seriously?

This place is a cesspit for the most part, but one learns to separate wheat from chaff. And there is occasional wheat.

I can't even stop laughing at shadowheart's name and bowlcut long enough to pop a boner honestly. Probablly first time Larian made a good joke.

Any news about the lv cap on the final release?

Initially was 10 aka a very "dungeons & kobolds" game. Then was "above 10 but not even close to 20" and now?

To serve as a comparison, PF:WoTR will feature tier 10 aka epic magic and if balancefags complained about sirroco on kangmaker, imagine when they see Pit of Despair which summons a Nightshade Nightcrawler(CR 18)per round and lasts caster level rounds. Or absolute death, the best insa kill spell ever. Even if the enemy pass the save, they take a lot of damage.

Obvious we will never get spells that are a tiny fraction of this power on BG3. But I really wanna see the Sawyerism that Larian will gonna do...

I mean, even in the context of the game "Shadowheart" is clearly intended as a throwaway alias she made up on the spot to not give you anything more specific about her identity.
The dialogue gives you even the option to put your attention on how... unlikely it sounds as a name, but she handwaves it with a vague "We have more pressing problems to worry about".

Not sure what the problem with the haircut is supposed to be, but that sounds like arbitrary nitpicking more than anything.
