Romance was only a thing in BG2. Though you could easily ignore it there and it was just a little bit of dialogue boxes per romance character. In this game, everyone essential propositions you
Huh? No, every character who has the capability of matching with you in BG2 will proposition you in some fashion. You'd have to tell them to piss off early on, and you could quite easily get into a love triangle situation after a point if you didn't.

Then there's all the pointless porn their putting into the game and the related cutscenes all with incredibly awkward animations and existing for no reason other than to emulate Dragon Age.
Dragon Age 1, 2 and Inquisition. All The Witcher games. GOW and other similar games that had them. Why would Larian emulate a successful trend in gaming? It's like they want to make money or something.

It's going to be 500 more pages of crying about porn scenes you have to willingly engage in and purposely not skip, isn't it?

Except it usually took a bit of dialogue and interaction for them to do it and they don't start to proposition you until later. On top of that, it's only three women for a male character and only one male for female characters who will romance you. That's out of the sixteen companions. This game on the other hand is every companion you come across propositioning you within the first chapter alone with just you playing the game normally. You'd have to play BG2 incredibly abnormally in order to get to the point where the romances actually start to proposition you.

The fact that they're wasting development time on making porn and all these other cutscenes when the goal was initially to develop a GAME is what the problem is. If they weren't trying to make awkwardly animated cutscenes for every single little piece of dialogue and instead just did what they did in their previous game, they'd be finished developing this game already.

Wiki probably uses .webp format for showing its images. webp is an abomination and doesn't function well with anything.

It's not a file format issue, Wikia/Fandom just hates image leeching.

It is a format issue. You can get around the format problems by taking the image and putting it into a file converter.

But those images were just portraits from the game, so why would they protect them?

I'm aware of potential webp problems, but in this case my browser can properly load webp yet it can't load the pics in Sunri's post.

Server cost related probably? I think they limit all image outlinks regardless of the content of the image.

There aren't going to be 16 companions in BG3. They have to hire modelers and voice actors for each one. They can't just hire an artist to draw a single portrait and only voice 50 out of 1000 lines like they did in BG1&2.

You're comparing apples to oranges.
This game on the other hand is every companion you come across propositioning you within the first chapter alone with just you playing the game normally.
Untrue. As you said, this doesn't apply to Shadowheart. IIRC you don't even get a sex scene with her in chapter one, just a kiss. She doesn't proposition you either.

It also doesn't apply to either to Wyll or Gale.

Only two out of the 5 companions do it, and it fits their personalities. The dark elf isn't even a companion and it fits dark elf lore. There's also a similar event with a dark elf in BG2.

Oops, there goes your narrative.

The scenes are mostly done and have been done for a very long time now. As I've said repeatedly, this is a ridiculous assertion, as the people who film animations aren't the people who make other content for the game. You're crying over time and budget concerns when you don't even have any idea about how much time and budget has been "wasted" on these scenes.

Were we always faggots for liking this genre?

I cannot comprehend how pathetic you need to be to desire virtual sex in a video game.
You have to be in your twenties or younger, really. The problem is we're all too old for this shit.

Well, that and that some people just have autistic bugs up their asses and are looking for an excuse to hate the game.

Video games were always a cope and a surrogate activity, virtual sex is not that different from your average power fantasy if you think about it, simply more taboo. Ed Greenwood was also very depraved, Larian is just continuing his work. So yeah, you too were a faggot for being into this crap instead of becoming an icon painter or something.

What kind of faggot paints icons when he could just kill an animal, eat it, then stare at the campfire for hours on end.

Lyric Suite is a shaman, he would not be content with that. Most people would be though.

More importantly it is all just text dialogue. There are no special cutscenes or anything so in the total amount of effort it took compared to moderns games is almost zero. The comparison is basically invalid.

No, I just wanted to explore dungeons and fight monsters in tactical battles.

You're right though, it should have been obvious that the "romances" were a bad thing as soon as they showed up in BG2.

And even back then it was obvious that they had attracted some fans who had bad motivations.
