Why is there a +3 weapon when the game only goes to lvl 4
In BG1, you get a +2 weapon at no later than level 2 for any character a +3 companion exclusive weapon. If you killed Drizzt, you get +3 and +5 weapons and you can do this at around level 1 or 2. This is excluding the cursed weapons of course. In Durlag's tower and Ulgoth's beard, you can get +3 weapons. The Ulgoth's beard one doesn't even require you to kill anything since you can just buy it.
Varscona FTW.
If you can kill Greywolf early, that is(shouldn't be that hard).

With DOS3 coming out, will it be the best DOS game? The first two were good DOS games. Does this improve upon them?

Don't have to. Just charm him, make him switch to his secondary weapon, take the sword with pickpocketing, and then talk to him and he'll go in peace. Emergent gameplay!

I mean, what is this uninspired, bland looking shit?
Consoles. Adding any detail/ornamentation would make items harder to discern from the distance people typically sit from their TVs. Therefore everyone just goes with some kind of dark contrasting background and yellow letters.

Codex Year of the Donut
Fired subj up recently, planning to play more on holidays. And the UI just baffles me.

I mean, what is this uninspired, bland looking shit? Where is the art style, vision behind, any flair? I'd thought the first iteration was more of a placeholder but judging by this they iterate on it only in terms of usability (it's fine really and they've redone the party overview screen in a positive way) but not the looks of it. Icing on the dull cake are the mug shot-looking non-customizable char avatars. Hope they'll improve that at least. But they desperately need to allow us to customize the whole UI and ideally make some sort of skins for it in order to leave this banal boring shit to the masses.

What's interesting and for justice's sake that at the same time the game menu has the art style in the same cool darkish/mind flayer vein and some more flair which may be indicating they will rework the in-game UI eventually but it's not certain ofc.

What did you want? Even more special snowflake sodomite demons?
2 high elves (which might as well be humans)
There is a stark lack in Gnomes and Gnome entrepreneurs at this point. Let's face it, a perfect forgotten realms game is a Gnome-centered game because the Gnomes are the only good race in the Forgotten realms. In fact, the only playable characters should be Gnomes! PROPERLY WRITTEN Gnomes with Turnip plantations, banks, illegal flash bruiser mate salesmen who use patented gear they invented while expertly evading taxes, armies of trained simians, etc. and NO ROMANCES other than traditional Male Gnome-Female Gnome marriages with proper Turnip dowries. Then maybe we can have a token Dwarf companion or two and visit a dwarf mine city to sell Turnip wine. Of course, the Dwarf companion should be a grumpy, angry, violent, drunk fighter character as expected.

Look at the poverty style of the old BG city:

If I were you, I wouldn't say a thing about poverty. Last time I was in Brussels (early December) there were a lot of homeless people sleeping on the fucking sidewalks and benches, scattered around the whole city centre. It looked more like some favela than normal european big city.

+1d4 fire is such a piddling enchantment on what amounts to an Easter egg. Larian, at least make it do Hellfire damage to bypass fire resistance and be setting appropriate.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Is it just me or does that screenshot look absolutely incoherent and disgusting? What the actual fuck am I looking at in the background? There is no sense of depth, everything looks so flat; and, the weird red hue coming off the light sources is gross as well.
