But it's not fun. That's the point.

It's like when Star Stable asks me to click on the bucket in my inventory to fill it with water with a second click on the well. Just fill the bucket that I have in the inventory when I click the well. There is no other possible way to interact with the well, just fill the damn bucket and let me move on.
You thought RPGs were all about fun and games? No, you must do your chores!

On serious note though, I guess they aren't at the point when they implement quality of life improvements.

Pay attention who labelled me as "racist". We know now whose souls... and skin... are blackened.
:notsureifserious:

At this point I can't really tell what your angle is. Is it trolling? Or are you being actually serious?

at first I thought I was in Pathfinder forum by accident:

casters are pathetic
Miss miss miss CRITICAL MISS miss miss miss!
I spend more time reloading the game because of unfair dice rolls than playing the game
way to many dice rolls
I see threads like this in literally every game featuring turn-based RNG combat.

Most of them just want to speed up the pace of combat, if the combat is early part or trash mob it's bearable when taking a turn
but when the combat starting have more enemy and complex it's start to become unbearable.

That's based on my observation rather the complain about lack of realism.
They should ask for easy mode then, if there isn't one in game already.

Other than that though, I have no idea what the end result would look like.

Ceramorphosis isn’t a positive thing. I’m not sure how it could be spun to be a positive thing, unless you can swing some kind of deal for the Illithid to implant your memories and personality in the new Illithid that takes you over or whatever...
You can side with evil, so allowing the ceramorphosis to happen is a likely possibility. I read it somewhere. Give me a moment a few hours... I KNEW I saw it somewhere...

Found it. From the press kit:

Dark powers are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your mind. Resist, and turn evil against itself. Or embrace corruption, and lay claim to the Forgotten Realms.

Ah, well that's the point of contention here. I know the basic P&P mechanic, but thinking back to Swen's gameplay promos I don't recall anything to indicate a roll was being done outside of the cone of view, quite the contrary. Like in the first presentation, when he sneaks up behind the halfling on a crate or the chick patrolling in the dungeon, or when he's sneaking around those skeletons at the end of the demo.

I even saw a YouTuber suggest that if you're Heavily Obscured (no light in the room, in the example), you don't need to roll in the cone of vision either, and you only get caught if you practically bump into the NPC. It's late, so I'm not gonna pull up the PHB, but that seems like an outlandish implementation for a videogame. If it's so dark that you don't need to roll even six feet in front of the guy, then you also shouldn't be able to see him yourself unless you've got Darkvision or something.
About stealth. The info may be outdated by now though, so bear that in mind.

The more negativety he sees about his products, the better
As long as he is seeing positivity into his bank account that he is seeing now, I doubt he will see the error of his ways.

How salty is Josh? Can't wait to watch :D

Got my panning controls in order, but damn if the multileveling of this game isn't clunky. Oh well, gotta endure and hopefully the next area will have more flat land.

That being said, I quite like the visual aesthetic of the game:

For me the reason D:OS 3 doesn't feel like a Baldur's Gate game is because of the art and the aesthetics, the music and soundtrack, the area design and the stereotypically bad Larian-style quest and dialog writing.
Sorry, just how is the writing typical Larian writing?

I've played Larian games. The writing is garbage compared to this. Everything gets turned into a dumb, unfunny joke - even the plot. You can say this is bad Bioware writing, if indeed it's bad at all when you consider how horrible video game writing is on the whole, but it's not bad Larian writing.

I don't think many care about it not being RTwP
Steam forums are filled with this, that's what I was referring to.

or that it isn't a direct continuation.
At least two guys have been flooding this thread with non-stop spam and the main thing they were pissed at was that it wasn't a continuation. They said it should be "Baldur's Gate: Something" not BG3.

nyway the game's decent for what it is; good time waster. GUI and interfaces need some serious work tho.
Well, early access gonna early access.

Does this game have a memory leak? I can't play it without my FPS tanking... Guess I need a new PC.
Try the different renderers. DX11 seems to leak for me, but others say the performance is better for them than Vulcan.

The writing is decent enough, quest design is good and very open-ended though which is something Larian has always excelled at.

Using other party members to talk is pretty epic.

I just completed the mind flayer dead talking scene by having Shadowheart do the talking and she used [Cleric] dialog options to get through the entire thing without a single roll.

What cracked me up was when he looked at the -1 to Dexterity and went "I don't like this minus one...". This is from the guy who was explaining at GDC how gamers are allergic to any negative stats, and how it's totally ok to have something be at -1.

I sympathize with Josh but he is one of those people who will always think they are smarter than everyone because they "read a study on this subject".
