The emphasis on appearance customisation in the advertisements for BG3 and other big RPGs is odd to me, I'm usually on there for the few minutes it takes to choose the least awful hairstyle and then move on, is it largely people who want to play themselves in video games that care? I understand wanting to play a specific character but surely that's more about specific in-game choices than chin length
Larian audience wants to immerse themselves and feel like it is them getting buttfucked by a bear.

Video game characters are dolls. For most of us they are nothing more than pretty toys. But for many this characters are idealized identity. Second type peoople have tendencies to be woke, because they want to live in their little, perfect world, without other harmful perspectives.

Or some just like also to have a nice visual customization for their character wich is nothing bad. I suspect some overthing that.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a game about identity. It's all about you.

When a game markets itself by using words like identity, you know it's going to be woke garbage. It's a game for Zoomers who are exactly the kind of cretins who have to take a selfie of themselves eating breakfast or taking a shit, and can't survive a day without getting approval ratings for every worthless take they have on social media.

tldr; Game is worthless zoomer affirming TRASH

Is not because people like to play with themself. People want to create their character said that.

There is who cares only just about stat and numbers, build ecc.
There is who also who want a visual deep customization.

I am in the second category myself.
No disrespect to people like yourself who enjoy it but is it really such a big draw that it merits the amount of focus it's gotten from marketing? I could just be out of touch since even the old BG character creator was fine by me but I remember Larian joking about how basic people were in EA character creation so I just assumed not caring was the norm.

I think the true crime of Baldur's Gate 3 is that they attempted to make a goblin look fuckable and gave it a human woman's voice. I swear to god none of you guys better be fucking that goblin or else I will get FURIOUS
I really shouldn't be sticking my dick in there...

HOWEVER

There is a game, and there is marketing. In this polish interview Swen admitted, that "core RPG players" weren't, what surprised him, main customers. That's why marketing is aimed toward different people.

Cloaca is basically anusvagina. But if you are into I wouldn't judge you.

Players do care which is why the majority pick human white male. Larian can’t handle it so they nerf humans by not including variant and ensuring every degenerate dragon/furry/tiefling capeshit race gets free ability scores. It won’t stop the human male fighter masterrace however.

The team took the task of inclusion very seriously. They talked to consultants and animators to create Black hairstyles, for instance.
I laughed at this. So they talked to consultants and probably hired specialists to make hairstyles of the most mysterious and rare mythical men of Africa that they have never seen before apparently. Jesus H :)

In Europe black people are sensibly less frequent than in US.

I haven't played this game since EA came out years ago (3 years now is it, 4 maybe?) and I only got a few hours in at most. Come back to this thread and people are complaining about bestiality... presumably this is the "long awaited new content" and Larian have really outdone themselves this time.

All games are rushed. But BG3 is first 100% finished on premiere.
Lmao, it didn't even release yet, and you saw only first act, hold your horses Larianfag. I fully expect it to be just like DOS1/2, finished only in early access areas, then steadily descending into a total mess as you get into further acts.

They always were the Bioware audience, but they hide behind Larian and the Baldur's Gate name now while pretending this brings them some sort kind of prestige. They are the same decline enablers they always were.

There are people whose only activity is to be offended 24/7, so it's not surprising at this point that Larian is hiring diversity and etiquette consultants to deal with 'difficult' audiences.
