Don't you poor low IQ butthurt neckbeards have a special hate thread to talk about BG3?

Oh well, I understand your butthurt is too much to be contained in one thread though.

Are gamers to blame or developers? Are gamers complaining if they get something more low level?

To be honest, gamers are to blame primarily. Most gamers think BGII is the superior game just because it had a higher level cap (and better graphics). While any proper monocled connoisseur knows that the original BG is the best. Gamers typically want bombastic experiences, they are not interested in most down to earth low level adventures, which in my opinion are typically better in gameplay and atmosphere.

Pathfinder was so much more memorable to me than Dos2. To be fair, I have played Pathfinder over 300 hours while only playing Dos2 for around 30 hours. I remember wanting to kill myself during those 30 hours but not much more than that.

I played dos2 for about 6 hours and could't play a single second anymore... It has everything which i hate on modern games.

Pathfinder Kingmaker has everything which i love from old school RPG's.

But you love Skyrim, a game which you can fight a **** dragon after the first dungeon.

On Baldur's Gate 2, you don't fight dragons on chapter 1, and most time of BG2 is around MID LEVELS. For me, 1~7 = low level, 8~15 = mid level and 16~epic = high level. Dragons are creatures which you only fight on late chapters when your party is all above lv 15. On Skyrim, is a creature which your dragon born with novice/apprentice levels of magic, bows and etc can fight with no problems. Thanks level scaling.

Also, i an a power hungry necromancer. hu3hu3hu3

And note that you should't blame the D&D gamer. Contrary to pathfinder, the great majority of D&D adventures happens bellow lv 10. Is not like pathfinder where most modules end up on lv 17. Most modules for D&D 5e which happens above lv 10 also happens outside of sword coast. Like descend to Arvenus, only the late stages in Arvenus, you will probably reach above lv 10. Lv 13 at best. Ravenloft if i remember correctly goes up to lv 12(not sure)

I would like more if the lv cap was at least 12? Yes. But look for the good side. Those who wanna a low level adventure can play BG3 and those who wanna a high level adventure can play PF:WoTR. Good RPG's for both tastes. I only an concerned with Solasta. It will be 5e OGL and having to compete with BG3, well, i wish lucky to then.

It's always nice to see my work recognised..however I believe my shitposter tag may have been a clerical error..Threads such as this show my more prestigious content

Thats really cool for when they add multiclassing in Early access. Being able to fully respec the base apart from the class means you can spec them into every different class if you want.

(for the uninitiated only multiclassing requirements 5e has is that you need at least 13 points in your old and new classes main stats to do a multiclass. Some classes are counted as having more than one main stat for the purpose of this. So a 13/13/13/13/13/13 character [which is kinda awfull but mathematically possible with point buy] can take a level in all 12 classes. )

Have they said anything at all about customising the classes for the companions? One of the things I wasn't fond of in DOS2 was that when you recruited a companion you'd get to pick their base class which in that game's case was more of a stat preset rather than a set class due to how 'classes' work in that game
While I understand it opens up more customisability from a gameplay perspective I feel like it removes a lot of the companions' personality or potentially defining characteristics when everyone can be everything

Hence why I'm hoping companions have predetermined classes rather than the pick-what-you-want approach Larian's previous game had.

Their starting class is defined by the character's backstory.
But you're only given the choice of picking a backstory when you create your first character, aren't you? Or are you just straight up creating your entire party at the start of the game? Big decline if that's the case

You can play either an origin character with a fixed backstory and starting class or build a custom character where you choose class, backstory and so on. The rest of the party consists either of the other origins/companions you recruit during the game or you can start with a full custom party just like in the old BG games

But my question was about the recruitable companions, not your player character.

Why bother with 13 in all when you could just use cheat engine to get 18 in all and play a pure rogue :obviously: ?!

I also agree with TemplarGR. More local plots are better than "saving the world". Even for high level stuff. On nwn1 - hotu, when you are dealing with drow conflicts, the game is far better than when you are dealing with Mephistopheles invasion. Icewind dale which focus on the nordic region is amazing too.
Yes! Adventure. :salute: And also done with being a queen or managing land, my rogue doesn't give a shit.

Guys I found out who Ontopoly is LARPing as. He's the writer from the Luckee Stars Motel in Hollywood!
If he is passionate about something then this guy is already better than half the people on this website, despite the writers trying to make him sound like an idiot by making him speak like a druggy
